Omschrijving
Tussen 1921-25 werd het huis De Wiersse voorzien van een brede aanbouw en een koepelachtige entreepartij naar ontwerp van architect professor Slothouwer, op basis van schetsen van W.E. Gatacre. Tegelijkertijd werd de (vermoedelijk aan het begin van de 19de eeuw gedempte) gracht aan de voorzijde van het huis doorgetrokken en werden de bakstenen BRUG die het toen ontstane eiland met het voorplein verbindt en de KEERMUREN langs het eiland en het voorplein gebouwd. De geprofileerde, hoog opgaande keermuren van het eiland hebben een wisselend, van naar rond en hoekig, verloop en worden afgedekt door geprofileerde natuurstenen dekplaten. De rood bakstenen keermuur langs het voorplein wordt eveneens door natuurstenen dekplaten gedekt. Op deze keermuur staat een gietijzeren leuning, bestaande uit balusters die door een regel met elkaar worden verbonden. Het eiland en het voorplein worden met elkaar verbonden door een bakstenen brug met hoge bakstenen zijden. De brug heeft een getoogde wateronderdoorgang. Tussen de lage en hoge pijlers bevinden zich ijzeren hekwerk, met voluutvormige zijstukken en dwars geplaatst hekwerk. Tussen de hoge pijlers zijn twee draaibare ijzeren vleugels bevestigd.
De KEERMUREN en de BRUG met HEKWERK behorende tot de historische buitenplaats De Wiersse zijn van algemeen belang:

Description
Between 1921-25 the house De Wiersse was provided with a broad extension and a dome-like entrance section designed by architect professor Slothouwer, on the basis of sketches by W.E. Gatacre. At the same time the moat (presumably filled in at the beginning of the 19th century) at the front of the house was extended and the brick BRIDGE connecting the island thus created with the forecourt and the RETAINING WALLS along the island and the forecourt were built. The profiled, steeply rising retaining walls of the island have a varied, from rounded to angular course, and are topped by profiled natural stone coping slabs. The red brick retaining wall along the forecourt is likewise topped by natural stone coping slabs. The island and the forecourt are connected to each other by a brick bridge with high brick sides. The bridge has an arched water opening beneath it. The RAILINGS between the bridge and the forecourt consist of low brick piers on a square base with natural stone coping slab and two high piers with pointed natural stone tops crowned by a ball. Between the low and high piers are iron railings with volute-shaped side pieces and transversely placed railings. Between the high piers two rotating iron gates are attached.
The RETAINING WALLS and the BRIDGE with RAILINGS belonging to the historic country estate De Wiersse are of general importance:
