Omschrijving
SCHUTSLUIS gelegen ten noorden van het gemaal "de Waterwolf", op het punt waar de Kommerzijlsterrijt in het Reitdiep uitkomt. De sluis bestaat uit twee sluishoofden met houten sluisdeuren, die beide vernieuwd zijn (de ene in 1960 en de andere in 1979). De sluiswanden zijn van baksteen en hebben aangesmeerde hoeken. Op de sluisdeuren is een ijzeren hek bevestigd. Tussen de beide sluishoofden bevindt zich een schutkolk met gemetselde stenen muren bedekt met aarde, aangelegd onder een talud van circa 45º. Om te voorkomen dat de schepen in het talud lopen zijn op regelmatige afstand houten meerpalen geplaatst voorzien van een houten loopbrug met ijzeren leuningen, die een verbinding vormt met de beide sluishoofden.

Description
LOCK situated north of the pumping station "de Waterwolf", at the point where the Kommerzijlsterrijt flows into the Reitdiep. The lock consists of two lock heads with wooden lock gates, both of which have been renewed (one in 1960 and the other in 1979). The lock walls are of brick and have plastered corners. An iron gate is fastened to the lock gates. Between the two lock heads is a lock chamber with mortared stone walls covered with earth, constructed under a slope of approximately 45°. To prevent the ships from running into the slope, wooden mooring posts are placed at regular intervals, fitted with a wooden walkway with iron railings, which form a connection with both lock heads.
