Inleiding
Voormalige BUNKER 10021 met munitiedepots en verblijfsruimte voor manschappen, gebouwd in 1942 en behorend bij de commandopost van de in 1938-1939 gebouwde "Batterij Den Hoorn" op Texel.
Omschrijving
Vrijwel geheel onder het zand gelegen bunker, bestaande uit twee doosvormige ruimtes aan weerszijden van een gang. De gang is bereikbaar door een afdalende trap aan de oostzijde en een aan de westzijde. De doosvormige ruimte aan de noordzijde van de gang is in twee delen gesplitst, elk voor een munitiebergplaats. De munitieruimtes hebben een rechthoekige plattegrond en zijn voorzien van zeer dikke betonnen wanden. Aan de zuidzijde van de gang ligt een verblijfsruimte voor de manschappen, met rechthoekig grondplan en voorzien van dunnere betonnen wanden.
Waardering
De bunker is van algemeen belang wegens militair- en architectuurhistorische waarde als historisch-functioneel onderdeel van het militaire verdedigingswerk "Batterij Den Hoorn" en als voorbeeld van een zware gewapend-betonconstructie uit de Tweede Wereldoorlog.

Description
Bunker situated almost entirely beneath the sand, consisting of two box-shaped spaces on either side of a corridor. The corridor is accessible by a descending staircase on the east side and one on the west side. The box-shaped space on the north side of the corridor is divided into two sections, each for an ammunition storage place. The ammunition spaces have a rectangular ground plan and are provided with very thick concrete walls. On the south side of the corridor lies a crew room for personnel, with rectangular ground plan and provided with thinner concrete walls.
Valuation
The bunker is of general importance due to its military and architectural-historical value as a historical-functional component of the military defence work "Battery Den Hoorn" and as an example of a heavy reinforced concrete structure from the Second World War.
