Omschrijving
Inleiding In 1911 naar ontwerp van architect Th. Rueter gebouwd vrijstaand KOLONIEHUIS.

Description
Introduction Built in 1911 after a design by architect Th. Rueter, a detached COLONY HOUSE. The small colony house was originally built as a study for A. Roland Holst and belonged to the International Brotherhood which established itself in 1900 on the boundary between Blaricum and Laren. This Brotherhood was a Christian-anarchist movement, founded by prof. J. van Rees and minister Kylstra.
The building, a cottage-like house built up in rural building tradition, lies to the south-east of the Noolseweg at the corner with the Prof. van Reeslaan.
N.B. The later extension on the south-east side of the building falls outside the protection.
Description
Small building built from white-painted wooden wattle panels on a brick plinth. The building is one storey high on a T-shaped floor plan under a combined thatched gabled roof. The roofline runs parallel to the Noolseweg with at right angles to it on the south-east side a recessed gabled roof. In the south-west roof slope there is a thatch-covered roof dormer. All windows and doors of the building are of wood.
The front facade (N/W) consists of a wooden door in the middle with above it a horizontal band with small windows. Above these windows is a wooden canopy. The thatched roof is raised slightly here. To the left of the door is a double opening casement window with glazing bars and shutters. To the right of the door this facade side steps back to form a loggia where a door and window with glazing bars and shutter are located.
The north-east facade consists of a stepped gable section with to the left of it a slightly recessed facade section (the stem of the T-shaped floor plan). The stepped gable section consists of a gable top clad with vertical wooden sections with in it a small casement window with glazing bars. On the ground floor there is on the right a door with partly glazing bars and a shutter and on the left a casement window with glazing bars and shutters on either side. To the left of the door is a small four-pane window. The slightly recessed facade section contains one double opening window with glazing bars.
At the south-west facade the stepped gable section is likewise clad with vertical wooden sections. On the ground floor there is a double opening window with glazing bars and shutters. Directly above these windows there are in the stepped gable section two windows with glazing bars. In the gable top a rotating window with glazing bars is then still fitted. The slightly recessed facade section contains here a double opening garden door with glazing bars.
The south-east facade has on the ground floor two double opening casement windows with glazing bars and shutters and in the stepped gable a small casement window with glazing bars.
Valuation
The object is of general importance from a cultural-historical and architectural-historical point of view as being a well-preserved example of a colony house belonging to the colony of prof. J. van Rees (International Brotherhood), as they were characteristic of the colonies appearing around 1900 in the Gooi on an idealistic basis.
