Omschrijving complexonderdeel 2
Het DIENSTGEBOUW van de buitenplaats het Huis te Maarn werd in 1915 opgetrokken naar een ontwerp van architect Jan Stuyt. De bouwtrant is verwant aan de neoclassicistische bouwstijl van het hoofdgebouw. Het gebouw werd ontworpen als garage stalgebouw annex dienstwoning, waar tevens gekookt werd voor het tuinpersoneel. In de jaren twintig werd het dienstgebouw aan de achterzijde uitgebreid met een orangerie.
Het dienstgebouw is schuin opzij van, doch met de gevel evenwijdig aan het hoofdgebouw gelegen. Het pand telt één bouwlaag onder een plat dak en is opgetrokken op een U-vormige plattegrond. De gevels zijn bepleisterd en hebben geblokte lisenen op de hoeken. De voorgevel of noordgevel bestaat uit een middendeel met twee korte vleugels ter weerszijden van een middendeel. Hierdoor ontstaat een plein, dat door een hekwerk aan de vleugels deels wordt afgesloten. Het middendeel van de voorgevel wordt door een kleine voorsprong geleed en bevat twee dubbele houten halfronde garagedeuren met vensters. Daartussen is een gevelsteen met het bouwjaar 'MCMXV' gezet. Boven de daklijst bevindt zich een wijzerplaat met aan weerszijden een balustrade. Achter de wijzerplaat zijn vijf klokken geplaatst met de tekst 'Eijsbouts 1912', die een voorslag geven. Het uurwerk en de speeltrommel bevinden zich in een kast in het interieur, tussen de garagedeuren. In de rechter vleugel bevindt zich een toegangsdeur alsmede enige vensters. De linker vleugel heeft twee staldeuren en bevat een paardenstal met natuurstenen bakken.
De achtergevel is links voorzien van een driezijdige erker en voorts van vensters en deuren. Tegen de achtergevel is in de twintiger jaren een orangerie gebouwd.
Voor het dienstgebouw bestaat de aanleg uit een dubbel pad, omgeven door taxus en rododendrons.

The SERVICE BUILDING of the country estate Het Huis te Maarn was constructed in 1915 according to a design by architect Jan Stuyt. The building style is related to the neoclassical architectural style of the main building. The building was designed as a garage stable building with adjoining service dwelling, where food was also prepared for the garden staff. In the nineteen-twenties the service building was expanded at the rear with an orangery.
The service building is positioned diagonally to the side of, but with its facade parallel to the main building. The building comprises one storey under a flat roof and is constructed on a U-shaped ground plan. The facades are plastered and have rusticated pilasters at the corners. The front facade or north facade consists of a central section with two short wings on either side of a central section. This creates a courtyard, which is partially enclosed by a fence on the wings.
