Inleiding
Gietijzeren POMP, omstreeks 1875 vervaardigd door de firma Nering Bögel te Deventer, één van de oudste ijzergieterijen in Nederland. De waterpomp staat in het centrum van Diepenveen op de overgang van Kerkplein en Kerkstraat voor het rijksmonument Kerkstraat 2-4-6. De kerk aan dit plein, eveneens een rijksmonument, is de voormalige kloosterkerk van een in 1578 verwoest vrouwenklooster. Dit klooster was de oorsprong van het dorp Diepenveen.
Omschrijving
Gietijzeren zwengelpomp in de vorm van een gecanneleerde zuil met korintisch kapiteel op een vierkante geprofileerde natuurstenen voetplaat.
Waardering
Pomp van algemeen cultuurhistorisch belang vanwege:
- de inmiddels typologische en functionele zeldzaamheid, van een object dat vroeger een veel voorkomend onderdeel van het straatbeeld was
- het feit dat de pomp een product is van Nering Bögel

Introduction
Cast-iron PUMP, manufactured around 1875 by the firm Nering Bögel of Deventer, one of the oldest iron foundries in the Netherlands. The water pump stands in the centre of Diepenveen at the junction of Kerkplein and Kerkstraat in front of the national monument Kerkstraat 2-4-6. The church on this square, also a national monument, is the former convent church of a women's convent destroyed in 1578. This convent was the origin of the village of Diepenveen.
Description
Cast-iron hand pump in the form of a fluted column with Corinthian capital on a square profiled natural stone footplate.
