Inleiding
GRENSPAAL aan de Nordhornsestraat die de rijksgrens Nederland-Hannover markeerde.
Tijdens het Weens congres in 1815 werden nieuwe landsgrenzen vastgesteld, waarbij Nederland aan de oostzijde in het noorden aan Hannover grensde. Vervolgens bepaalde een traktaat in 1889 dat de grens afgebakend moest worden door grenspalen met een afmeting van 2 meter 17. Daarbij werd er onderscheid gemaakt tussen hoofdpalen, waarop Hannover en Nederland voluit geschreven werden en tussenstenen met daarop de letters H en N. Deze grenspaal is een hoofdpaal.
Omschrijving
Een ronde conische hardstenen grenspaal op een plint met inscripties aan de bovenzijde in basreliëf: aan de noordoostzijde "Hannover" en aan de zuidwestzijde "Nederland".

BORDER STONE on the Nordhornsestraat which marked the national boundary Netherlands-Hannover.
During the Congress of Vienna in 1815 new national boundaries were established, whereby the Netherlands on the eastern side in the north bordered Hannover. Subsequently a treaty in 1889 determined that the boundary was to be demarcated by boundary stones with a height of 2 metres 17. A distinction was made between main stones, on which Hannover and Netherlands were written in full and intermediate stones with the letters H and N on them. This boundary stone is a main stone.
Description
A round conical stone boundary marker on a plinth with inscriptions on the upper surface in bas-relief: on the northeast side "Hannover" and on the southwest side "Nederland".
