Omschrijving complexonderdeel 1
Een met neogotische invloeden uitgevoerd BAARHUISJE op het zuidelijke deel van de Algemene Begraafplaats. Het gebouw heeft een rechthoekige plattegrond en bestaat uit één bouwlaag onder een met zink gedekt zadeldak. Op de nok van het dak is een pinakelvormige zinken dakruiter gezet. Voor- en zijgevels zijn uitgevoerd in baksteen op een bepleisterde plint en zijn op de hoeken voorzien van bepleisterde lisenen met imitatieblokken, waarop een natuurstenen obelisk is geplaatst. De achtergevel is geheel bepleisterd. De voorgevel (oostzijde) is als klokgevel uitgevoerd en heeft een natuurstenen bolbekroning gekregen. Op de middenas bevindt zich een spitboogvormige paneeldeur met ruitvormige panelen, die aan weerszijden door pilasters wordt geflankeerd die een pinakel als bekroning hebben gekregen. Boven de deur bevindt zich een spitsboogvormige nis met een reliëf bestaande uit een doodshoofd met twee gekruiste beenderen.
De achtergevel is voorzien van twee kleine rechthoekige vensters.
De rechter zijgevel heeft twee spitboogvensters met gietijzeren roedenindeling en vierpassen. De linkerzijgevel heeft links een rozetvenster en rechts is een houten deur met waaierstrek.
Waardering
Het baarhuisje is van architectuurhistorische waarde als gaaf voorbeeld van een bouwtype alsmede van cultuurhistorische waarde als voorbeeld en onderdeel van de funeraire cultuur van de negentiende eeuw. Het baarhuisje is tevens van grote ensemblewaarde als onderdeel van de Algemene Begraafplaats.

Description of complex component 1
A MORTUARY CHAPEL executed with neo-gothic influences on the southern part of the General Cemetery. The building has a rectangular floor plan and consists of one storey under a gabled roof covered with zinc. On the ridge of the roof a pinnacle-shaped zinc roof finial is placed. Front and side facades are executed in brick on a plastered plinth and are at the corners provided with plastered pilasters with imitation ashlar, on which a natural stone obelisk is placed. The rear facade is entirely plastered. The front facade (east side) is executed as a bell gable and has received a natural stone bulbous crown. On the central axis is a pointed-arch panel door with diamond-shaped panels, which on both sides is flanked by pilasters which have been crowned with a pinnacle. Above the door is a pointed-arch niche with a relief consisting of a skull with two crossed bones.
The rear facade is provided with two small rectangular windows.
The right side facade has two pointed-arch windows with cast-iron glazing bars and quatrefoils. The left side facade has on the left a rose window and on the right is a wooden door with fan-shaped transom.
Valuation
The mortuary chapel is of architectural-historical value as an intact example of a building type and also of cultural-historical value as an example and component of the funerary culture of the nineteenth century. The mortuary chapel is also of great ensemble value as part of the General Cemetery.
