Inleiding
Voormalige Noord-Hollandsche CONSERVENFABRIEK, gebouwd in 1878 aan de westzijde van de Voorburggracht en uitgevoerd in eclectische trant met invloeden van de Neo-Renaissance.
N.B. De voormalige conservenfabriek, thans in gebruik als metaalwerkplaats, ligt in de noordoostelijke hoek van een groter fabriekscomplex, dat verder buiten de bescherming valt.
Omschrijving
Op samengesteld rechthoekig grondplan gebouwde conservenfabriek bestaande uit drie evenwijdige bouwvolumes van elk twee bouwlagen onder zadeldaken met zwarte Hollandse pan. Het muurwerk is opgetrokken in rode baksteen waarbij ter decoratie is gebruik gemaakt van pleisterwerk en natuursteen dat zowel overkraagt als in het gevelvlak is gehouden. Dit laatste betreft speklagen die alleen in de flankerende trapgevels voorkomen.
De symmetrische voorgevel (O) bestaat uit drie delen: een halfrond beëindigde middenpartij tussen flankerende identieke trapgevels. De middenpartij heeft op de parterre een getoogd vierdelig kozijn met onder het kalf vierruits ramen en boven het kalf tweeruits ramen. Boven het getoogde venster bevindt zich een getoogde rollaag met profiellijst. Vanaf het hoogste punt van deze lijst ontspringt een liseen met gepleisterde kubusvormige bekroning met ezelsrug-afdekking. Links en rechts van de liseen bevinden zich twee identieke zesruits venster met kalf onder de bovenste twee ramen. Deze vensters hebben spits toelopende ontlastingsbogen waaronder zich boogtrommels met tegelwerk in metselmozaïek bevinden. Onder de halfronde en naar voren springende gepleisterde lijst die de middenpartij van de gevel afsluit, staat in gebogen fries de naam NOORDHOLLANDSCHE CONSERVENFABRIEK in zwarte reliëf letters, door de centrale liseen van elkaar gescheiden. De middenpartij wordt door lisenen van de flankerende trapgevels gescheiden. Deze lisenen worden bekroond met verticale elementen die identiek zijn aan het eerder genoemde centrale element boven de middenpartij.
De flankerende trapgevels hebben centraal op de parterre (vernieuwde) dubbele transportdeuren met bovenlicht die worden geflankeerd door gekoppelde zesruitsvensters met kalf onder de bovenste twee ramen. De verdiepingen hebben elk drie zesruitsvensters met kalf onder de bovenste twee ramen. Deze vensters hebben halfronde ontlastingsbogen waaronder zich boogtrommels met tegelwerk in visgraatpatroon bevinden. De trapgevels hebben lisenen op de buitenste hoeken. Deze lisenen worden net als de andere lisenen en de centrale muurdam van de middenpartij afgesloten met de genoemde verticale elementen. Description
Canning factory built on a compound rectangular ground plan consisting of three parallel building volumes each of two storeys under gabled roofs with black Dutch tiles. The masonry is constructed of red brick with plasterwork and natural stone used for decoration, both projecting and held within the facade plane. The latter concerns string courses which occur only in the flanking stepped gables.
The symmetrical front facade (E) consists of three parts: a half-round terminated central section between flanking identical stepped gables. The central section has on the ground floor an arched four-part window with four-pane windows below the transom and two-pane windows above the transom. Above the arched window is an arched mullion with moulding profile. From the highest point of this moulding springs a lesene with plastered cubic crown with saddle-back capping. To the left and right of the lesene are two identical six-pane windows with transom below the upper two panes. These windows have pointed relieving arches beneath which are arch drums with tilework in mosaic pattern. Beneath the half-round and projecting plastered moulding which terminates the central section of the facade, stands in curved frieze the name NOORDHOLLANDSCHE CONSERVENFABRIEK in black relief letters, separated from each other by the central lesene. The central section is separated from the flanking stepped gables by lesenes. These lesenes are crowned with vertical elements identical to the aforementioned central element above the central section.
The flanking stepped gables have centrally on the ground floor (renewed) double transport doors with fanlight flanked by coupled six-pane windows with transom below the upper two panes. The upper storeys each have three six-pane windows with transom below the upper two panes. These windows have half-round relieving arches beneath which are arch drums with tilework in herringbone pattern. The stepped gables have lesenes on the outer corners. These lesenes are like the other lesenes and the central wall band of the central section terminated with the aforementioned vertical elements. The steps of the facade are closed with projecting plastered plates.
Valuation
