HARDSTENEN SOKKEL AAN OOSTZIJDE TUIN.
Sierlijke hardstenen laat 17de-eeuwse sokkel op rechthoekige grondslag in de trant van Marot. Vanaf de voetplaat zwenkt het middendeel uit naar de afdekplaat. De afdekplaat heeft aan de onderzijde een geprofileerde afwerking. De voorzijde is gedecoreerd met gevlochten bandwerk en eenvoudige bloemmotieven. Langs de randen is een strak acanthusmotief a angebracht. De achterzijde van de sokkel is onbewerkt. De zijkanten zijn eveneens onbewerkt. De sokkel droeg waarschijnlijk een tuinvaas.

Description
HARDSTONE SOCLE ON THE EAST SIDE OF THE GARDEN.
Elegant hardstone late 17th-century socle on a rectangular ground plan in the manner of Marot. From the base plate the middle section splays out towards the capping plate. The capping plate has a moulded finish on the underside. The front is decorated with interlaced band work and simple floral motifs. Along the edges a strict acanthus motif is applied. The rear of the socle is unwrought. The sides are likewise unwrought. The socle probably bore a garden vase.
