Inleiding
Restant van algemeen in zuidwest Nederland vanaf circa 1906 toegepast zeedijkverhogingssysteem, gedeeltelijk nog compleet met zogenaamde trapjesglooiing aan de zeezijde. Het object bestaat uit twee gedeelten aan weerszijden van de haven van Wolphaartsdijk: van de haven in westelijke richting tot de inlaag. In oostelijke richting vanaf de haven langs de zeezijde van de Zuidvlietpolder en deels van de Oosterlandpolder; samen ongeveer drie km lengte en daterend uit 1927-1929. Het hier toegepaste dijkverhogingssysteem werd ontwikkeld door ir. R.R.L. de Muralt van het Waterschap Schouwen.
Omschrijving
Systeem van betonnen koppellijsten waartussen betonnen muurplaten in sponningen zijn geplaatst. Zowel de lijsten als de muurplaten zijn voorzien van een verzwaarde voet met een omgezette rand ter voorkoming van onderspoeling.
Nabij de inlaag is aan de zeezijde een trapjesglooiing aanwezig met betonstenen aan het bovenste gedeelte en een bekleding met Vilvoordse steen aan het onderste gedeelte.
Waardering
Dijkverhogingssysteem van algemeen belang vanwege cultuurhistorische waarde en als zeldzaam wordend voorbeeld van een typologische en technische ontwikkeling.

Introduction
Remainder of a sea dyke elevation system generally applied in southwest Netherlands from circa 1906, partially still complete with so-called stepping revetment on the sea side. The object consists of two sections on either side of the harbour of Wolphaartsdijk: from the harbour in a westerly direction to the intake. In an easterly direction from the harbour along the sea side of the Zuidvlietpolder and partly of the Oosterlandpolder; together approximately three km in length and dating from 1927-1929. The dyke elevation system applied here was developed by engineer R.R.L. de Muralt of the Waterboard Schouwen.
Description
System of concrete coupling lists between which concrete wall plates are placed in rebates. Both the lists and the wall plates are provided with a reinforced foot with an inverted edge to prevent scouring.
Near the intake there is a stepping revetment on the sea side with concrete stones at the upper part and a facing with Vilvoorde stone at the lower part.
Valuation
Dyke elevation system of general importance due to cultural-historical value and as a rarely occurring example of a typological and technical development.
