Inleiding
Met elementen van het Neo-Classicisme in 1889 gebouwd dubbel HERENHUIS.
Het dubbel herenhuis maakt deel uit van een gesloten straatwand aan de Reinaldstraat, de doorgaande verbinding tussen Broekhem en Neerhem.
Het interieur is uitgesloten van bescherming.
Omschrijving:
Het dubbel herenhuis heeft een in de lengterichting geplaatste rechthoekige plattegrond, telt twee bouwlagen en wordt afgedekt met een schilddak met tuiles du Nord pannen. De twee brede dakkapellen zijn van recentere datum.
Vrijwel symmetrische indeling frontgevel. Het toegepaste bouwmateriaal is mergel. Rechthoekige houten vensters en deuren, deels met rondboogvormige, deels met segmentboogvormige glas-in-lood bovenlichten. De vensterkozijnen en balkondeuren van pand huisnummer 4 zijn uitgevoerd in kunststof. Middendeel frontgevel uitlopend in een brede topgevel met hierin een rondboogvormig venster geflankeerd door twee ronde venstertjes en bekroond met frontonachtig ornament met jaartalaanduiding. Frontgevel en met name de topgevel met diverse decoratieve ornamenten in mergel. Middendeel frontgevel met in de eerste bouwlaag een rechthoekige poort met segmentboogvormig bovenlicht. In linkerdeel frontgevel tweede bouwlaag een breed balkon op consoles en met een smeedijzeren leuning. Authentieke deuren met ijzeren roosters.
Waterlijsten. Aan de achtergevel een kleine uitbouw in een bouwlaag met plat dak.
Waardering:
Het dubbel herenhuis bezit architectuurhistorische waarden wegens het belang voor de bovenlokale geschiedenis van de architectuur, de esthetische kwaliteiten van het ontwerp, de toepassing van mergel als bouwmateriaal en de ornamentiek.
Ensemblewaarde ontleent dit dubbel herenhuis aan de situering aan de Reinaldstraat en daarmee van betekenis voor het aanzien van dit deel van Valkenburg aan de Geul. Het dubbel herenhuis is tenslotte van algemeen belang wegens de architectonische gaafheid van het exterieur en de typologische zeldzaamheid.

The double townhouse has a rectangular floor plan placed in the longitudinal direction, comprises two storeys and is covered with a hipped roof with tuiles du Nord tiles. The two broad roof dormers are of more recent date.
Almost symmetrical arrangement of the front facade. The building material used is marl. Rectangular wooden windows and doors, partly with semicircular-arched, partly with segmental-arched leaded glass fanlights. The window frames and balcony doors of number 4 are executed in plastic. Central section of front facade terminating in a broad gable-end with in it a semicircular-arched window flanked by two round windows and crowned with pediment-like ornament with date inscription. Front facade and in particular the gable-end with various decorative ornaments in marl. Central section of front facade with in the first storey a rectangular gateway with segmental-arched fanlight. In the left part of the front facade second storey a broad balcony on consoles and with a wrought-iron railing. Authentic doors with iron grilles.
Drip mouldings. On the rear facade a small extension in one storey with flat roof.
