Inleiding:
Met elementen van Jugendstil in 1908 naar een ontwerp van architect Josef Luijten uit Valkenburg in opdracht van dhr. Dorren gebouwd HERENHUIS. De aanbouwen aan de achtergevel en de rechterzijgevel zijn uitgesloten van bescherming.
Omschrijving:
Het herenhuis heeft een in dwarsrichting geplaatste rechthoekige plattegrond telt twee bouwlagen en wordt afgedekt met een zadeldak met pannen. Het toegepaste bouwmateriaal is mergel. De frontgevel is wit gesaust. De plint is uitgevoerd in baksteen.
Vrijstaand markant pand. Rechthoekige houten vensters en deur, deels met rondboogvormige, deels met segmentboogvormige bovenlichten. Bovenlichten deels met roedeverdeling. Deur- en vensteromlijstingen in Jugendstilmotieven. Linkerdeel frontgevel iets vooruitspringend en uitlopend in een topgevel met een rondboogvormige afsluiting met hierin jaartalaanduiding. In de eerste bouwlaag linkerdeel frontgevel een erker met hierop een balkon met decoratief smeedijzeren hekwerk. Smeedijzeren muurankers met Jugendstilmotief. Deur met decoratief smeedijzeren rooster. Accentuering bovenlichten in decoratief stucwerk. Houten dakkapel. Blinde rechterzijgevel. Aanbouw van recentere datum aan de rechterzijgevel.
Aan de achtergevel diverse aanbouwen.
De interieurindeling is ongewijzigd gebleven maar bevat voor het overige geen beschermde onderdelen.

Het herenhuis Koninginneweg 2 bezit architectuurhistorische waarden wegens het belang van het object voor de bovenregionale geschiedenis van de architectuur, de esthetische kwaliteiten van het ontwerp en het gebruik van mergel als bouwmateriaal. De architectuurhistorische waarden manifesteren zich met name in de frontgevel. Free-standing prominent building. Rectangular wooden windows and door, partly with round-arch-shaped, partly with segmental-arch-shaped fanlights. Fanlights partly with glazing bars. Door and window frames in Jugendstil motifs. Left part of front facade slightly projecting and ending in a gable with a round-arch-shaped closure with year date in it. In the first storey left part of front facade a bay window with above it a balcony with decorative wrought-iron railings. Wrought-iron wall anchors with Jugendstil motif. Door with decorative wrought-iron grille. Accentuation of fanlights in decorative stuccowork. Wooden roof dormer. Blind right side facade. Annex of more recent date on the right side facade.
