Inleiding
In zakelijk expressionistische trant in 1927 naar een ontwerp van architect Jos Wielders uit Sittard gebouwde vrijstaande KAPELANIE.
Enkele bijbouwtjes aan de achterzijde van de voormalige kapelanie zijn uitgesloten van bescherming.
Omschrijving
De kapelanie heeft een in de lengterichting geplaatste rechthoekige plattegrond, telt twee bouwlagen en heeft een asymmetrisch zadeldak, waarvan het voorste dakschild is doorgetrokken tot aan de eerste bouwlaag. Het dak is gedekt met tuiles du Nord pannen. Het pand is opgetrokken in gele en rode baksteen. Via een muur aan de rechterzijgevel is het pand verbonden met de parochiekerk waarmee het architectonisch een geheel vormt. De vensters zijn betrekkelijk klein en hebben zwaar raamhout. De ramen hebben roedeverdeling. In de achtergevel een venster in gekleurd glas. Boven de deur is een houten luifel.
Waardering
Deze voormalige kapelanie is cultuurhistorisch van belang als bijzondere uitdrukking van een geestelijke ontwikkeling. Het pand bezit architectuurhistorische waarde als voorbeeld van het oeuvre van architect Jos Wielders en vanwege de kwaliteit van het ontwerp. De voormalige kapelanie bezit ensemblewaarde op grond van zijn situering in de nabijheid van de parochiekerk en daarmee architectonisch een geheel vormend. Description
The chaplaincy has a rectangular ground plan oriented in the longitudinal direction, comprises two storeys and has an asymmetrical gabled roof, the front roof slope of which extends down to the first storey. The roof is covered with Tuiles du Nord tiles. The building is constructed of yellow and red brick. Via a wall on the right side facade the building is connected to the parish church with which it forms an architectural whole. The windows are relatively small and have heavy window frames. The windows have glazing bars. In the rear facade is a window in coloured glass. Above the door is a wooden canopy.

This former chaplaincy is of cultural-historical importance as a particular expression of a spiritual development.
