Inleiding
POMP gelegen tussen de Zuiderhaven en het Snouck van Loosenpark. De door C.B. Posthumus Meyjes ontworpen pomp dateert uit 1897 en heeft als functie het pompen van water uit de Buitenhaven naar de vijvers van het Snouck van Loosenpark.
Omschrijving
Pomp in houten huisje met rechthoekige plattegrond. Het uit rabatdelen opgebouwde huisje heeft een zinken tentdakje en staat op een natuurstenen plint, die rust op een in rode baksteen uitgevoerde basis.
Waardering
De pomp is van algemeen belang uit architectuur- en cultuurhistorisch oogpunt als gaaf bewaard gebleven onderdeel van de waterhuishouding van het reeds beschermde Snouck van Loosenpark.
