Inleiding:
In 1931 voor C.K. Diepeveen, directeur van de N.V Handelsmaatschappij W.B. Diepeveen & co, gebouwde riante VILLA in Engelse Landhuisstijl naar ontwerp van architect W. Kromhout Czn.
Omschrijving:
Vrijstaande villa op een geheel door een sloot omgeven rechthoekig polderkavel met een diepe voortuin en oprijlaan.
De deels onderkelderde villa heeft twee bouwlagen en een kapverdieping en is op een zo goed als rechthoekige plattegrond in gele baksteen opgetrokken onder een ruim overkragend rieten wolfdak met op alle vier dakvlakken een zeer hoog oprijzende bakstenen schoorsteen. Rondom het dak een brede houten daklijst.
Links, haaks op de villa, bevindt zich een garage, bestaande uit één bouwlaag en een rieten schilddak, voorts een teak-houten schuifdeur met verschillende losse panelen. De garage wordt verbonden met de hoofdbouw door een met riet overdekte gaanderij, waarin bergruimtes en een dubbele tuindeur naar de achtertuin.
Rechts van de villa een aanbouw van één bouwlaag en een kapverdieping, eveneens met riet bedekt.
De vensters zijn gevat in stalen profielen en omlijst met teak-houten kozijnen.
De vrijwel symmetrisch opgebouwde villa heeft in het midden van de begane grond een gedeeltelijk inpandige ingangspartij onder een houten luifel. Het entreeniveau wordt bereikt door een gemetselde trap met drie treden. De deur met een vierkant Judasvenster wordt geflankeerd door twee smalle rechthoekige vensters, met aan weerszijden een breder rechthoekig venster dat zich ook links naast de ingang in het gevelvlak en rechts nog in de uitbouw van de ingang bevindt. Hiernaast, links en rechts, een drieledig venster. Geheel rechts in de aanbouw een smalle deur met een stenen trap en geheel rechts een smal rechthoekig venster.
Op de eerste verdieping, boven de ingang een uitbouw waarin drie aaneengesloten tweeledige rechthoekige vensters. Links en rechts twee kleinere vensters. In de kap recht boven de entree een grote dakkapel, waarin een strook van zes vensters, geflankeerd door kleine driehoekige dakkappelletjes.
Aan de achtergevel een ommuurd terras en aangrenzend een tuinkamer met houten schuifdeur en op de verdieping, onder de brede daklijst, twee balkons, waarvan de borstweringen met tegels zijn afgezet.

Free-standing villa on a rectangular polder plot entirely surrounded by a moat with a deep front garden and driveway.
The partly cellaried villa has two storeys and a roof storey and is constructed on an almost rectangular ground plan in yellow brick under a generously overhanging thatched half-hipped roof with on all four roof planes a very tall rising brick chimney. Around the roof a broad wooden roof moulding.
On the left, perpendicular to the villa, is a garage, consisting of one storey and a thatched hipped roof, furthermore a teak-wood sliding door with various loose panels. The garage is connected to the main building by a thatched covered corridor, in which storage spaces and a double garden door to the rear garden.
To the right of the villa an extension of one storey and a roof storey, likewise thatched.
The windows are set in steel profiles and framed with teak-wood frames.
The almost symmetrically constructed villa has in the middle of the ground floor a partly recessed entrance arrangement beneath a wooden canopy. The entrance level is reached by a brick-built staircase with three steps. The door with a square Judas window is flanked by two narrow rectangular windows, with on either side a broader rectangular window that is also located left of the entrance in the facade plane and right still in the extension of the entrance.
