Inleiding
WOONHUIS in ca. 1860 uit twee oudere huisjes ontstaan in opdracht van een uit Den Haag afkomstige admiraal die zich in Leur vestigde. De woonhuisfunctie werd tweemaal onderbroken. In 1920/1930 door de vestiging van een Protestants jongenstehuis waarvoor dakkapellen en aanbouwen achter het huis nodig waren. De vestiging van een winkel in 1957 had de verdwijning van de originele stoep en stoeppalen met staven tot gevolg. De huidige bewoners hebben de woonhuissituatie gereconstrueerd.
Beschrijving
Het tweelaags huis heeft een in handvorm baksteen en staand verband opgetrokken lijstgevel en in kruisverband met IJsselsteen opgetrokken achter- en zijmuren met vlechtingen. Het zadeldak tussen tuitgevels is gedekt met Oudhollandse pannen en heeft aan de achterkant een lagere dakvoet. De voorgevel heeft vijf raamassen met centrale pilasteringang met kapitelen en brede kroonlijst. Boven de paneeldeur een bovenlicht met siersmeedwerk. Links en rechts van de ingang zijn elk twee zesruitsschuiframen geplaatst, waarvan de duimen van de verdwenen luiken nog aanwezig zijn. Op de verdieping vijf vierruitsschuiframen en samengestelde ramen in de dakkapellen. De voorgevel wordt afgesloten met een geprofileerde houten kroonlijst op vlakke consoles waartussen geometrische versiering. De zijgevels met cementen voet hebben zesruits en verschillende moderne ramen. In de staafankers komen v- en x-vormige versieringen voor. Voor het huis loopt een stoep en staan vier snoeilindes. Links van het huis voert een klinkerstraatje naar een gemetseld poortje waarin een opgeklampte getoogde deur met inloopdeurtje.
Inwendig heeft het huis de originele symmetrische indeling behouden. De beide voorkamers bezitten nog gestucte plafonds met florale motieven in het midden en de hoekstukken. Verder bezit het een houten kastenwand met paneeldeuren gescheiden door gecanneleerde pilasterpanelen met plint en bekroning.
Waardering
Het huis heeft cultuurhistorische waarde als voorbeeldfunctie van een voornaam 'stadshuis' in een dorpskern. Het heeft architectuurhistorische waarde wegens de nog aanwezige samenhang tussen exterieur en interieur. Het huis heeft ensmblewaarde wegens de situering in de oude kern van het havenplaatsje Leur waar het deel uitmaakt van een waardevolle bebouwingsgroep die bijdraagt tot de visuele gaafheid van de dorpse omgeving.

Introduction
RESIDENTIAL HOUSE formed around 1860 from two older houses commissioned by an admiral from The Hague who settled in Leur. The residential function was interrupted twice. In 1920/1930 by the establishment of a Protestant boys' home for which dormer windows and extensions behind the house were required. The establishment of a shop in 1957 resulted in the disappearance of the original stoop and bollards with staves. The current residents have reconstructed the residential situation.
Description
The two-storey house has a cornice-topped facade constructed of hand-formed brick and stretcher bond, and rear and side walls constructed in Flemish bond with alternating brickwork and IJssel stone. The gabled roof between spout gables is covered with Oudhollandse tiles and has a lower eaves line on the rear. The front facade has five window axes with a central pilaster entrance with capitals and broad cornice. Above the panel door a fanlight with ornamental ironwork. To the left and right of the entrance are two six-light sash windows each, of which the thumbs of the missing shutters are still present. On the first floor five four-light sash windows and composite windows in the dormer windows. The front facade is closed off with a profiled wooden cornice on flat consoles with geometric decoration between them. The side walls with cement plinth have six-light and various modern windows. In the wall anchors v- and x-shaped decorations occur. In front of the house runs a stoop and four pollarded limes stand. To the left of the house a clinker paved lane leads to a masonry gate in which an ironed up arched door with small access door.
Interiorly, the house has retained its original symmetrical layout. Both front rooms still possess stuccoed ceilings with floral motifs in the centre and corner sections. Furthermore, it has a wooden cabinet wall with panel doors separated by fluted pilaster panels with plinth and cornice.
Valuation
The house has cultural-historical value as an exemplary function of a distinguished 'town house' in a village centre. It has architectural-historical value because of the still-present coherence between exterior and interior. The house has ensemble value because of its location in the old centre of the harbour town of Leur where it forms part of a valuable building group that contributes to the visual integrity of the village environment.
