Omschrijving
Een 17de eeuwse hardstenen jurisdictiepaal, voorzien van de inscripties 'T VRIJE en SLUYS, alsmede vier laat 18de eeuwse hardstenen zgn. Oostenrijkse palen met medaillons waarin de Staatse leeuw met pijlenbundel als symbool van de Eendracht en kromzwaard als symbool van het recht aan de ene zijde en de dubbelkoppige gekroonde Oostenrijkse adelaar aan de andere zijde.
De palen zijn respectievelijk 1,40 en 1,90 m hoog en ze zijn onderling verbonden door staven. De middelste en buitenste palen dragen een steenhouwersmerk.
De jurisdictiepaal en de vier Oostenrijkse palen zijn destijds gebezigd om de grens aan te duiden van het gebied waarover jurisdictie werd uitgeoefend, respectievelijk waar de landsgrens was gelegen.

Description
A 17th-century hardstone jurisdiction post, provided with the inscriptions 'T VRIJE and SLUYS, as well as four late 18th-century hardstone so-called Austrian posts with medallions in which the State lion with bundle of arrows as a symbol of Unity and curved sword as a symbol of law on the one side and the double-headed crowned Austrian eagle on the other side.
The posts are respectively 1.40 and 1.90 m high and they are interconnected by rods. The middle and outer posts bear a stonemason's mark.
The jurisdiction post and the four Austrian posts were originally used to mark the boundary of the area over which jurisdiction was exercised, respectively where the national boundary was located.
The 17th-century jurisdiction post and the late 18th-century Austrian posts are of cultural-historical, legal-historical, locational, rarity and typological value as national monuments.
