Inleiding
Een in 1902-1903 gerealiseerde, in overgangsarchitectuur door L. Beirer ontworpen en aan vier zijden vrijstaande VILLA met bijbehorend hekwerk in opdracht van E. Sillem.
Omschrijving
Een op een nagenoeg rechthoekige plattegrond in rode baksteen opgetrokken villa bestaande uit hoofdverdieping, eerste verdieping, tweede verdieping en een kapverdieping onder een combinatie van schild- en zadeldak bedekt door leien. Op de hoekpunten van de daken een bolvormige natuurstenen bekroning.
Voorgevel bestaande uit drie traveeën met aan westzijde hoektoren met een hoog opgetrokken schilddak, met twee spitsvormige bekroningen, bedekt met leien. Direct onder het dak een tandfries met daaronder weer een fries van Lombardische bogen. Op een blok natuursteen in de voorgevel staat vermeld: ARCHITECT: L. BEIRER. De rechtertravee ligt iets teruggerooid en bevat de entree welke is gelegen in een natuurstenen portiek. De daklijst wordt hier doorbroken door een dakkapel met overhellend lessenaardak. In de daklijstonderbreking Lombardische bogen. Op de hoek een over de hoofdverdieping lopende steunbeer met afgeschuinde top.
De middentravee heeft op de eerste verdieping een door natuurstenen sierconsoles ondersteund balkon met sierijzeren balustrade. Deze travee eindigt in een puntgevel waarop een natuurstenen kruisvormige bekroning.
De vensters op de eerste verdieping in de voorgevel voorzien van roedenverdeling. Alle vensters in de voorgevel voorzien van bovenlichten met eveneens roedenverdeling en boogvelden.
De vensters in de tweede verdieping en de kapverdieping voorzien van traliewerk.
Linkerzijgevel met een door de daklijst heen brekende dakkapel met een wolfskap en een venster met boogveld met daarnaast twee kleinere dakkapellen met door roeden onderverdeelde vensters. Over de beganegrondverdieping, in de middentravee, een erkeruitbouw met plat dak. De vensters op de tweede verdieping voorzien van decoratief traliewerk.
De gevel wordt verder verlevendigd door het gebruik van bruine geglazuurde baksteen, decoratief metselwerk (w.o. boogfriezen) en natuurstenen sluit- en hoekstenen.
Sierijzeren hekwerk op natuurstenen plint.
Waardering
Villa in overgangsarchitectuur van algemeen belang vanwege de architectuurhistorische waarde alsmede van belang vanwege de stedebouwkundige en ensemble waarde als onderdeel van de villabebouwing aan en rondom het Museumplein.

A villa built on a nearly rectangular ground plan in red brick consisting of ground floor, first floor, second floor and a garret storey under a combination of hipped roof and gabled roof covered with slate. On the corner points of the roofs a spherical natural stone crown.
Front facade consisting of three bays with a corner tower on the west side with a high hipped roof, with two pointed crowns, covered with slate. Directly below the roof a tooth frieze with below it again a frieze of Lombard arches. On a block of natural stone in the front facade is noted: ARCHITECT: L. BEIRER. The right bay is slightly recessed and contains the entrance which is situated in a natural stone portico. The cornice is interrupted here by a roof dormer with overhanging sloping roof. In the cornice interruption Lombard arches. On the corner a buttress running over the ground floor with bevelled top.
The middle bay has on the first floor a balcony supported by natural stone ornamental consoles with ornamental iron balustrade. This bay ends in a pointed gable with a natural stone cross-shaped crown.
The windows on the first floor in the front facade provided with glazing bars. All windows in the front facade provided with fanlights likewise with glazing bars and arched fields.
