Inleiding
Centraal woonhuis van een aan Berlage herinnerende, drie aaneengeschakelde eengezins herenhuizen onder één kap in rationalische stijl in 1912 ontworpen door J.F. Staal ten behoeve van J. Vegersteen en D.R. Nienaber.
Omschrijving
Het geheel is opgebouwd op een rechthoekige plattegrond. Het woonhuis wordt afgedekt door een schilddak met dakkapellen en is onderverdeeld in sousterrain, hoofdverdieping en bovenverdieping met een rechte gevelbeëindiging. Erkeruitbouw over sousterrain en hoofdverdieping met bovenliggend balkon.
Ter hoogte van de hoofdverdieping drieboogvormig portiek (gedragen door twee natuurstenen zuilen) met getrapte ingang onder de linkerboog. Vensters met schuiframen harmonieus over de gevel verdeeld. Houten, rechthoekige deur met bovenlicht.
Waardering
Het herenhuis is van belang als bijzondere uitdrukking van een typologische ontwikkeling en vanwege de algehele architectoniche vormgeving. Tevens van belang in het oeuvre van de architect en als onderdeel van een stedebouwkundig geheel nl. het enige in Amsterdam voorkomende villapark.

Description
The whole is built on a rectangular ground plan. The townhouse is covered by a hipped roof with roof dormers and is subdivided into basement, principal floor and upper floor with a straight facade termination. Bay window extension over basement and principal floor with overlying balcony.
At the height of the principal floor a three-arched porch (supported by two natural stone columns) with stepped entrance beneath the left arch. Windows with sash frames harmoniously distributed across the facade. Wooden, rectangular door with fanlight.
Assessment
The townhouse is of significance as a particular expression of a typological development and because of the overall architectural design. Furthermore of significance in the architect's oeuvre and as part of an urban planning whole namely the only villa park of its kind in Amsterdam.
