Inleiding
In 1912-1913 tot stand gekomen VILLA genaamd Rosa en ontworpen in 'Um 1800'-stijl door A. Jacot in opdracht van J. Cohen, met achterzijde gelegen aan Vondelpark. Betonconstructie uitgevoerd door betonmaatschappij 'De Kondor'.
Omschrijving
Bakstenen villa met natuurstenen front bestaande uit vier bouwlagen gebouwd op een vrijwel rechthoekige plattegrond met erkerachtige uitbouwen. Mansardedak met concave aanzet en convexe overkapping met uitkragende daklijst en fries.
De uit twee traveeën bestaande voorgevel heeft over hoofd- en bovenverdieping twee halfronde erkers, aan de hoeken elk geflankeerd door twee gecanneleerde halfzuilen op half basementen met Ionische kapitelen. Erkers op iedere verdieping met driedelig samengestelde vensters met schuiframen in houten kozijnen met bovenlichten voorzien van roedenverdeling. Driedelig samengesteld getoogd venster met houten kruiskozijnen en frans balkon met ijzeren sierhek in geveltop. Balkon op hoofdverdieping met eveneens ijzeren sierhek.
In noord-westelijke gevel portiek met trap met afdak rustend op zuil met Ionisch kapiteel. Twee houten toegangsdeuren met oeil-de-boeuf. In middentravee beganegronds derde toegangsdeur met eveneens oeil-de-boeuf in erkeruitbouw over twee verdiepingen uitlopend in balkon. In noord-oostelijke gevel rechthoekige vensters met houten kruiskozijnen per drieën regelmatig over gevel verdeeld. Drie dakkapellen met fronton en kruiskozijnen.
Bordes-aanbouw aan achtergevel met dubbele trap. Rechthoekige vensters met houten kruiskozijnen.
Aan de straatzijde een smeedijzeren hek met toegangspoort op lage muur.
Waardering
Villa van architectuurhistorisch belang vanwege de gaafheid alsmede de zorgvuldig gedetailleerde vormgeving in 'Um 1880'-stijl. Tevens van belang vanwege de situering aan het Vondelpark en als onderdeel van het enig in Amsterdam voorkomende villapark.
