Inleiding
Een op een cirkelvormig eiland in de vijver van het Vondelpark gelegen MUZIEKTENT gebouwd in 1873 naar een ontwerp van J.D. Zocher jr. en L.P. Zocher en gegoten door de fa. L.J. Enthoven te 's-Gravenhage in opdracht van het bestuur van de Vereeniging tot oprichting van een Rij- en Wandelpark te Amsterdam.
N.B. De ijzeren loopbrug dateert uit het begin van de twintigste eeuw.
Omschrijving
Een op een tienhoekig geknikte plattegrond tot stand gekomen gietijzeren muziektent op een gepleisterde bakstenen basement. De muziektent is toegankelijk via een uit 9 treden bestaande hardstenen trap met gietijzeren leuningen. Tien bewerkte en gecanelleerde kolommen met composiet kapiteel onder sierkorbelen dragen een flauw hellend houten overstekend tentdak met een stervormig gewelf en zijn met elkaar verbonden door een hekwerk. Op de nok van het dak een uivormige bekroning. Tussen de kolommen onder de dakrand een opengewerkt fries met daaronder segmentvormig ajourwerk met sjabloonmotieven. In het midden van de bogen peervormig sluitwerk.
Waardering
Gietijzeren muziektent van cultuurhistorisch en typologisch belang. Eveneens van belang als onderdeel van de oorspronkelijke bebouwing en objecten in het Vondelpark.

A MUSIC PAVILION located on a circular island in the pond of the Vondelpark built in 1873 to a design by J.D. Zocher jr. and L.P. Zocher and cast by the firm L.J. Enthoven in The Hague commissioned by the board of the Association for the establishment of a Riding and Walking Park in Amsterdam.
N.B. The iron footbridge dates from the beginning of the twentieth century.
Description
A cast-iron music pavilion created on a ten-sided bent floor plan on a plastered brick basement. The music pavilion is accessible via a hardstone staircase consisting of 9 steps with cast-iron railings. Ten worked and fluted columns with composite capital under ornamental corbels support a gently sloping wooden overhanging tent roof with a star-shaped vault and are connected to each other by railings. On the ridge of the roof an owl-shaped finial. Between the columns under the roof edge an open-worked frieze with below it segmented openwork with stencilled motifs. In the middle of the arches pear-shaped closing pieces.
Valuation
Cast-iron music pavilion of cultural-historical and typological importance. Also of importance as a component of the original building and objects in the Vondelpark.
