Inleiding

Introduction

FARM called "Anna Hoeve" consisting of a residential house with an attached barn in the form of a timber-framed structure with central post at the rear. The residential house, built in eclectic style, was presumably constructed around 1875. The timber-framed barn is possibly older in origin and was built as a timber-framed farmhouse. The appearance of the farm is determined by the residential house whose roof ridge runs parallel to the street. The farm is situated on the south side of Noordeinde.

Description

The residential house, built on a rectangular ground plan, consists of a ground floor and attic storey under a hipped roof, covered with black glazed flat Frisian tiles and fitted with chimneys at both ridge ends. The barn is wider and higher than the residential house. The front of the timber-framed barn, projecting on both sides, is concealed behind short walls, perpendicular to both gables of the residential house. The residential house is built in red brick above a plinth finished with cement. The residential house has a main cornice that runs above both gables and two short walls of the timber-framed barn. In the front facade this main cornice separates the ground floor from the roof dormer.

The symmetrically arranged front facade (N) has five window bays. The central bay is emphasized by flanking pilasters and the aforementioned roof dormer, which is finished with a pediment. Both corners of the roof dormer have a pilaster, which also applies to both corners of the front facade. All window openings have a plastered eyebrow and all on the ground floor are fitted with cross windows. The roof dormer has a double panelled door with glass panes.

The left gable (E) has three sash windows of unequal size, all with plastered eyebrow as in the front facade.

The right gable has an original sash window with plastered eyebrow identical to those in the front facade.

The timber-framed barn has an internal square construction without overhang and is placed under a reed-thatched hipped roof with stepped roof edge at the front and surrounding tile border. The tile-covered sections contain black glazed flat Frisian tiles. The masonry of the timber-framed barn is built in red brick.

The two short walls of the front (N) contain a door and a sash window, respectively in the left (E) and right section (W).

The left side of the timber-framed barn (E) has a sash window on the right and to the left of it three arched iron stable windows. The right side has three arched iron stable windows. The original components in the rear gable are the threshing floor door in the right corner and an iron stable window to the left of it.

Valuation

The farm is of general importance from an architectural and cultural-historical perspective as a well-preserved example of late 19th-century building construction in the countryside.
