Omschrijving
Inleiding
Schuilgaand in de haagbeuk aan de Hearrewei is het gietijzeren HEK op een laag bakstenen muurtje als erfscheiding opgetrokken. Volgens de inscriptie op een hardstenen neut bij het voetgangershek is het in 1894 geplaatst, kort na de verbouwing van de kerk. Het zuidelijk gedeelte van het hekwerk is niet meer geheel intact. De erfscheiding van het kerkhof is voor de overige zijden gerealiseerd door de haagbeuk met eikebomen welke op ca 10 meter onderlinge afstand staan.
Omschrijving
Een bruin bakstenen muurtje met om de ca 2 meter een hardstenen neut waarin de gietijzeren stijlen van een ijzeren hekwerk met dubbele rij gegoten lanspunten. Het rechter uiteinde is voorzien van een gebogen vleugel; het linker uiteinde is over een afstand van ca twee meter niet meer aanwezig.
Ongeveer in het midden van het hekwerk is de toegang tot het kerkhof, bestaande uit een brede toegang met een dubbel hek en een enkelvoudig voetgangershek ter linkerzijde. Het gebogen dubbele toegangshek met het opschrift in gietijzeren letters MEMENTO MORI, is opgehangen aan bekroonde gietijzeren stijlen waarin van boven naar beneden vergankelijkheidssymbolen zijn verwerkt: een gevleugelde zandloper, twee kruislings geplaatste zeisen met op het snijpunt een staartbijtende slang, twee kruislings geplaatste omgekeerde toortsen met een banderolle op de kruising. Op de neut van de stijl links van het voetgangershek is de inscriptie aangebracht: J.K. INIA 1894.
Waardering
Het giet- en smeedijzeren hekwerk is van architectuurhistorisch en cultuurhistorisch belang:
- als contemporaine terreinafscheiding,
- vanwege de bijzondere decoratie met fraaie vergankelijkheidssymboliek,
- vanwege het feit dat het monumentale karakter van de kerk met de reeds beschermde toren wordt versterkt.

Introduction
Hidden in the hawthorn hedge along the Hearrewei is the cast-iron FENCE erected on a low brick wall as a boundary demarcation. According to the inscription on a sandstone newel at the pedestrian gate, it was placed in 1894, shortly after the church renovation. The southern section of the fencing is no longer completely intact. The boundary demarcation of the churchyard is realised on the remaining sides by the hawthorn hedge with oak trees which stand at approximately 10 metre intervals.
Description
A brown brick wall with approximately every 2 metres a sandstone newel in which the cast-iron uprights of an iron fence with a double row of cast lance points. The right end is provided with a curved wing; the left end is missing over a distance of approximately two metres.
Approximately in the middle of the fencing is the entrance to the churchyard, consisting of a broad entrance with a double gate and a single pedestrian gate on the left side. The curved double entrance gate with the inscription in cast-iron letters MEMENTO MORI, is hung on crowned cast-iron uprights in which transience symbols are worked from top to bottom: a winged hourglass, two diagonally placed scythes with a tail-biting serpent at the intersection, two diagonally placed inverted torches with a banner at the crossing. On the newel of the upright to the left of the pedestrian gate the inscription is made: J.K. INIA 1894.
Valuation
The cast and wrought-iron fencing is of architectural-historical and cultural-historical significance:
- as a contemporary site boundary demarcation,
- on account of the special decoration with fine transience symbolism,
- on account of the fact that the monumental character of the church with the already protected tower is reinforced.
