Omschrijving onderdeel 15
BLOEMENBRUG. In oorsprong naar ontwerp van C. Eggink uitgevoerde, gebogen voetbrug uit circa 1856-57 met troggewelven op gecementeerde bakstenen landhoofden met smeedijzeren randbalken.
Langs de zuidzijde van de brug resteren nog vijf van de zes ruitvormige bloembakken, waaraan de brug haar naam ontleent. Vanuit het midden naar de uiteinden hebben de bloembakken langere ruitvormen, hetgeen de wandeling over de brug een ruimtelijk-dynamisch effect geeft. Tussen de bloembakken zijn plantvakken aangebracht met gecementeerde bakstenen lijsten. In oorsprong bevatte ook de noordzijde van de brug dergelijke bloembakken en plantvakken.

FLOWER BRIDGE. Curved footbridge originally executed to a design by C. Eggink from circa 1856-57 with channel vaults on cemented brick abutments with wrought-iron edge railings.
Along the south side of the bridge five of the six diamond-shaped flower boxes remain, from which the bridge takes its name. From the centre towards the ends, the flower boxes have longer diamond forms, which gives the walk across the bridge a spatial-dynamic effect. Between the flower boxes planting beds are installed with cemented brick edgings. Originally the north side of the bridge also contained such flower boxes and planting beds.
