Inleiding
Op een geringe verhoging van het terrein gelegen vrijstaande, relatief forse recreatiewoning, genaamd "De Schelp", deel uitmakend van een rond 1933 gebouwd complexje dat het begin inluidde van de ontwikkeling van dit duinrandgebied tot familierecreatie gebied. Deze woning was aanvankelijk in het bezit van een particulier ondernemer en bestemd voor de verhuur.
Omschrijving
De verdiepingloze recreatiewoning "De Schelp", gebouwd in een zakelijke Interbellumstijl, bezit een eenvoudige plattegrond. De woning is in een later stadium naar het noorden toe vergroot, deels met gebruik van oude kozijnen en ramen. De gevels zijn opgetrokken uit gepleisterd en gewit metselwerk op een rode bakstenen plint. Het karakteristieke, flauw hellende schilddak, gedekt met rode tuile du nord, bezit een vrij ver overstekende strakke daklijst en een kleine originele dakkapel. De houten kozijnen bezitten ramen met horizontale roedeverdelingen en zijn behangen met luiken met rood op wit zandloper motief; verschillende kozijnen zijn vernieuwd of leeggeroofd. Tegen de zuidwest gevel een waterput.
Het interieur is deels aangepast in verband met de uitbreding.

Situated on a slight elevation of the terrain, detached, relatively substantial recreational dwelling, called "De Schelp", forming part of a complex built around 1933 that marked the beginning of the development of this dune edge area into a family recreation area. This dwelling was originally owned by a private entrepreneur and intended for rental.
Description
The single-storey recreational dwelling "De Schelp", built in a businesslike Interwar style, has a simple floor plan. The dwelling was subsequently enlarged to the north, partly using old window frames and windows. The facades are built up of rendered and whitewashed masonry on a red brick plinth. The characteristic, gently sloping hipped roof, covered with red tuile du nord, has a fairly projecting sleek cornice and a small original roof dormer. The wooden window frames have windows with horizontal glazing bars and are hung with shutters with red on white hourglass motif; various frames have been renewed or stripped. Against the southwest facade a water well.
The interior has been partly adapted due to the enlargement.
