Inleiding
Torenstation voor electricteitsverdeling met dienstwoning, in verband met de aansluiting van Tholen en Sint Philipsland op het electriciteitsnet, rond 1927 aan de dorpsrand gebouwd in een sobere, zakelijk-traditionele trant. De electriciteit werd verkregen via de voedingskabel uit Nieuw-Vossemeer.
Omschrijving
Zowel de woning als het bedrijfsgedeelte is uitgevoerd met sobere gevels, opgetrokken uit roodbruine machinale baksteen in halfsteens- resp. staandverband.
Het bedrijfsgedeelte is voorzien van enig siermetselwerk in zwartige baksteen rond de gevelopeningen en bezit de, voor dit type bebouwing karakteristieke, lage tweelichtramen en zware deur met bijzonder, oorspronkelijk beslag. In de toppen en aan de zijgevels bevinden zich nog de aansluitpunten voor het verdwenen bovengronds electriciteitsleidingennet. Tegen de achtergevel van het bedrijfsgedeelte, dat momenteel als transformatorgebouw in gebruik is, bevindt zich een kleine, aanbouw met plat dak, voormalige kantoor/werkplaats. De ramen en deuren van de woning zijn sterk vereenvoudigd, zonder onderverdelingen of roedeverdelingen.
De woning en het bedrijfsgedeelte bezitten zadeldaken met de nokken dwars op de straat, gedekt met rode groefpannen; het dak van het bedrijfsgedeelte is voorzien van wolfseinden; sobere houten boeiboorden en windveren.
