Inleiding
RECTORAATSKERK VAN DE H.CATHERINA EN LUCIA, 1895-1896. Gebouwd in neo-romaanse stijl naar een ontwerp van de Roermondse architect J. Jorna. De kerk is gesitueerd aan de rijksweg Vaals-Maastricht.
Omschrijving
Kruiskerk met driebeukig basilicaal schip, dwarspand en koor, tweelingtorens aan weerszijden van de westgevel. De kerk heeft relatief kleinschalige proporties. Zadeldaken op het schip en de kruisarmen, lessenaarsdaken op de zijbeuken, torenspitsen met leien in Maasdekking; dakkapellen en bakgoten.
Bakstenen optrek met rood geglazuurde bakstenen lisenen, rondboogfriezen, vensterlijsten. Het schip is voorzien van zich verjongende steunberen en bloktanddecoraties. Tussen de tweelingtorens een uitgebouwd portaal met trapsgewijs uitgemetselde rondboog, waarin een rechthoekige dubbele houten deur met smeedijzeren beslag in rondboogvormige lijst. In het vulstuk een gebeeldhouwd familiewapen en het opschrift: "Auxiliis Pii Baronis Von Thimus Locupletibus Aedificator". Gekoppelde rondboogvensters, galmgaten en nissen met tussenkolommen in rondboogvormige lijsten. Ronde roosvensters met natuurstenen traceringen.
Klokkenstoel met klok van anonieme gieter, 14de eeuw, diam. 59 cm.
Sober, op onderdelen vernieuwd INTERIEUR met kruisgewelven, waarin onder meer de drie gebrandschilderde neo-gotische ramen, geschonken door de familie Schlüper-Jobses, van belang zijn.

Cross church with three-aisled basilical nave, transept and choir, twin towers on either side of the west façade. The church has relatively small-scale proportions. Saddle roofs on the nave and cross arms, lean-to roofs on the side aisles, tower spires with slates in Maastricht bond; roof dormers and gutters.
Brickwork with red glazed brick pilasters, round-arch friezes, window lintels. The nave is provided with tapering buttresses and dentil decorations. Between the twin towers a built-out portal with stepped round arch, containing a rectangular double wooden door with wrought-iron fittings in round-arch frame. In the spandrel a sculptured coat of arms and the inscription: "Auxiliis Pii Baronis Von Thimus Locupletibus Aedificator". Coupled round-arch windows, sound holes and niches with intermediate columns in round-arch lintels. Round rose windows with natural stone tracery.
Bell-cote with bell by anonymous founder, 14th century, diam. 59 cm.
