Inleiding PAKHUIS, markant gesitueerd aan het Winschoterdiep nabij de Trompbrug en de Oosterhaven, aan weerszijden gescheiden door smalle gangen van de aangrenzende bebouwing, gebouwd in 1904 als graanpakhuis in opdracht van A. Kingma in een ambachtelijk-traditionele bouwtrant. In de voorgevel eerste steen: "29 september 1904 A.K. en J.K.O.". In 1920 is het pakhuis verbouwd en zijn op de eerste verdieping kantoren aangebracht. De opbouw van zinkbeplating achter de geveltop is van later datum en van ondergeschikt belang. Het gebouw is thans in gebruik als bedrijfsruimte. Omschrijving Het gebouw is opgetrokken op een diepe, in hoofdvorm rechthoekige plattegrond en telt vijf bouwlagen onder een plat dak. De zes traveeën brede voorgevel is symmetrisch van opzet en opgetrokken uit rode baksteen op een gesinterd trasraam. De twee middelste traveeën bevatten houten hijsdeuren, geflankeerd door smallere vensteropeningen. Alle venster- en deuropeningen zijn segmentboogvormig gesloten en hebben rollagen van gesinterde steen. De verdiepingsvensters hebben bakstenen vensterbanken. Tegen de trapsgewijs uitgemetselde geveltop bevinden zich twee houten trijshuisjes. Ter hoogte van de balklagen zijn in alle gevels smeedijzeren muurankers aangebracht. De achtergevel is vijf traveeën breed waarvan de middelste houten hijsdeuren bevat, geflankeerd door telkens twee vensters. Aan de geveltop bevindt zich hier eveneens een houten trijshuisje.
