Inleiding
Voormalig STATION van de Noordoosterlokaalspoorweg-Maatschappij (in latere jaren geexploiteerd door de Nederlandse Spoorwegen) gebouwd in 1903-1904 met kenmerken van de Art Nouveau-stijl naar ontwerp van E. Cuypers. De spoorlijn Assen-Stadskanaal is in 1968 opgeheven, het spoortrace is grotendeels omgevormd tot fietspad. Het station is inmiddels in gebruik als woonhuis.
Omschrijving
Op L-vormige grondslag gebaseerd en in baksteen opgetrokken station, bestaande uit twee bouwlagen en gedekt door een samengesteld, deels afgewolfd zadeldak bedekt met geglazuurde Tuile du Nord-pannen; pirons; pregnant opgebouwde schoorsteen aan de westelijke zijgevel; schoorsteen aan oostelijke topgevel; houten dakkapellen met zadeldak; eenvoudige geprofileerde goten en windveren op klossen.
Asymmetrische gevelopbouw met gemetselde plint met geglazuurde afzaten; west- en zuidgevel gepleisterd; noord- en oostgevel in rode baksteen; natuurstenen speklagen; immitatievakwerk in de (afgeknotte) topgevels; deur- en raamkozijnen van diverse afmetingen; lateien; vensterbanken in trapsgewijs geplaatste lagen van geglazuurde afzaten; noordgevel met kleurige sectieltegels met naam: Rolde. Oostelijke zijde met houten aanbouw onder een met Tuile du Nord- pannen belegd zadeldak.

Former STATION of the Noordoosterlokaalspoorweg-Maatschappij (in later years operated by the Nederlandse Spoorwegen) built in 1903-1904 with features of the Art Nouveau style after a design by E. Cuypers. The railway line Assen-Stadskanaal was closed in 1968, the track bed has largely been converted into a cycling path. The station is now in use as a dwelling.

Station based on an L-shaped ground plan and erected in brick, consisting of two storeys and covered by a composite, partly barrel-vaulted gabled roof covered with glazed Tuile du Nord tiles; roof finials; prominently built-up chimney on the western side gable; chimney on eastern stepped gable; wooden roof dormers with gabled roof; simple profiled gutters and wind braces on blocks.
Asymmetrical facade construction with brick plinth with glazed offset; west and south facades rendered; north and east facades in red brick; natural stone string courses; imitation half-timbering in the (truncated) stepped gables; door and window frames of various dimensions; lintels; window sills in rows of stacked glazed offset courses; north facade with coloured section tiles with name: Rolde. Eastern side with wooden extension under a gabled roof covered with Tuile du Nord tiles.
