INLEIDING
VLIEGTUIGLOODS OF GROTE HANGAR. Op rechthoekige grondslag van 64 x 24 m onder geknikt lessenaardak in nieuw-zakelijke trant door J.A. Brinkman en L.C. van der Vlugt, met medewerking van M. Zwanenburg, als VLIEGTUIGLOODS of grote hangar ontworpen hal, in oorsprong bestemd voor de stalling van een dertigtal sport- en zakenvliegtuigen en zo nodig nog enkele aan de kapspanten op te hangen zweefvliegtuigen (1935-36).
NB. Bij beschikking van 24 juni 1998 (nr. 98/2731) is door de toenmalige Staatssecretaris van O C en W, A. Nuis, aan de toenmalige eigenaar van de vliegtuigloods (de Stichting Museum Historische Luchtvaart Hoogeveen), vergunning verleend voor de demontage te Ypenburg en aansluitend de wederopbouw van de loods op vliegveld Hoogeveen.
OMSCHRIJVING
De vliegtuigloods is opgetrokken als stalen vakwerkconstructie met een vulling van witgesausde kalkzandsteen waarin de ijle, vrijdragende kapconstructie van geklonken vakwerkspanten (geleverd door Rorink & v.d. Broek te Enschede) is geïntegreerd; de kap steekt aan beide korte zijden licht uit; de dakbedekking bestaat uit golfplaten. Aan de hoge zuidzijde zijn twee reeksen roldeuren aangebracht, bekleed met golfplaten; het terugliggend dakvlak daarboven was in oorsprong voorzien van een langgerekt bovenlicht van twee smalle ruiten boven elkaar. De westgevel is geheel blind. De noordgevel is voorzien van een doorgaand bovenlicht.
WAARDERING
Vliegtuigloods in nieuw-zakelijke trant met bijzonder ijle stalen draagconstructie en nog oorspronkelijke roldeuren, thans te Hoogeveen maar oorspronkelijk deel uitmakend van luchthavencomplex Ypenburg en als zodanig van algemeen belang wegens typologische, bouwhistorische en historisch-functionele waarde.

AIRCRAFT HANGAR OR LARGE HANGAR. On rectangular ground plan of 64 x 24 m under a bent sawtooth roof in the Nieuwe Zakelijkheid style by J.A. Brinkman and L.C. van der Vlugt, with the collaboration of M. Zwanenburg, designed as an AIRCRAFT HANGAR or large hangar hall, originally intended for the storage of some thirty sports and business aircraft and if necessary a few glider aircraft to be suspended from the roof trusses (1935-36).
N.B. By decision of 24 June 1998 (no. 98/2731), the then State Secretary for OCW, A. Nuis, granted permission to the then owner of the aircraft hangar (the Foundation Museum Historische Luchtvaart Hoogeveen) for the dismantling at Ypenburg and subsequently the reconstruction of the hangar at Hoogeveen airfield.
DESCRIPTION
The aircraft hangar is constructed as a steel braced-frame structure with infill of whitewashed calcium silicate brick in which the slender, self-supporting roof truss structure of riveted braced trusses (supplied by Rorink & v.d. Broek of Enschede) is integrated; the roof projects slightly at both short ends; the roof covering consists of corrugated sheet. On the high south side are two series of roller doors, clad with corrugated sheet; the recessed roof plane above was originally provided with an elongated fanlight of two narrow panes of glass one above the other. The west facade is completely blank. The north facade is provided with a continuous fanlight.
VALUATION
Aircraft hangar in the Nieuwe Zakelijkheid style with particularly slender steel load-bearing structure and still original roller doors, now at Hoogeveen but originally part of the Ypenburg airfield complex and as such of general importance on account of typological, building-historical and historical-functional value.
