Inleiding
Gereformeerde kerk (tegenwoordig Vrijgemaakt) in 1933 gebouwd naar ontwerp van D. van Dijk in een stijl die neigt naar de Nieuwe Haagse School. In de hal een stichtingssteen met opschrift: 'De eerste steen gelegd op 5 januari 1933, Ds. J. Meyer, Ds. W. Faber'. De kerk ligt in een karakteristiek gebied met lintbebouwing uit de dertiger jaren. Rondom de kerk een tegelplein, aan de voorzijde begrensd door een gemetselde muur met ijzeren buizen; aan de zijkanten door een beukenhaag. Het orgel is nieuw en de tribune over de gehele gevelbreedte doorgetrokken. De bescherming richt zich op ex- en interieur, uitgezonderd de latere aanbouw aan de achterzijde.
Omschrijving
Kerk op kruisvormige plattegrond onder zadeldaken met zwarte Romaanse pannen; toren op noordoostelijke gevelhoek. Gevels opgetrokken in geelbruine baksteen op een trasraam in roodbruine steen, afgesloten met een rollaag; langs de dakrand een streks gemetselde rand. In de noordgevel bevindt zich de dubbele paneeldeur met ijzeren hang- en sluitwerk in een rondboogportiek met uitgemetselde boog. Erboven drie smalle verticale trapsgewijs geplaatste vensters en enkele kleine vensters. In de beide zijtopgevels van de kruisarmen vijf dito gerangschikte verticale vensters. Alle vensters met licht gekleurd glas-in-lood en gemetselde afzaten. Naast de beide kruisarmen, in de noordelijk oksels, een portaal met platte dakafsluiting, deur en twee kleine vensters. Vierzijdig torenlichaam met iets uitgemetselde en hoger opgetrokken hoekpartij met twee wijzerplaten; smalle boven elkaar geplaatste lichtopeningen, gemetselde galmgaten; gemetseld fries met rechthoekige spaarvelden en vierzijdige spits met leien en weerhaan.
INTERIEUR
Overkapping met spitsboogvormige houten spantconstructie; hellend grondvlak, oorspronkelijk bankenplan en preekstoel. Orgel en orgelkas zijn niet van waarde uit het oogpunt van monumentenzorg.
Waardering
Kerk van cultuur-, en architectuurhistorisch belang vanwege de aan de Nieuwe Haagse School verwante, voor de jaren '30 typerende bouwstijl en de redelijke mate van gaafheid van het ex- en interieur. In relatie met de omringende lintbebouwing van stedebouwkundig belang vanwege het beeldbepalende karakter in het straatbeeld.

Reformed church (currently Separate Reformed) built in 1933 to the design of D. van Dijk in a style inclined towards the Nieuwe Haagse School. In the hall a foundation stone with inscription: 'The foundation stone laid on 5 January 1933, Rev. J. Meyer, Rev. W. Faber'. The church lies in a characteristic area with linear development from the nineteen-thirties. Around the church a tile forecourt, bounded at the front by a brick wall with iron pipes; on the sides by a beech hedge. The organ is new and the gallery extended across the full facade width. The protection applies to exterior and interior, with the exception of the later extension on the rear.
Description
Church on cruciform plan under gabled roofs with black Romanesque tiles; tower on the northeast corner of the facade. Facades constructed in yellowish-brown brick on a travertine stone base in reddish-brown brick, finished with a roll course; along the roof edge a stretcher-bonded border. In the north facade is a double panel door with iron hinges and fittings in a round-arch portico with arched surround. Above it three narrow vertical windows arranged in steps and some small windows. In both side gables of the cross arms five similarly arranged vertical windows. All windows with lightly coloured stained glass and brick relieving arches. Next to both cross arms, in the northern corners, a portal with flat roof finish, door and two small windows. Four-sided tower structure with slightly projecting and higher raised corner section with two clock faces; narrow vertically arranged light openings, brick sound holes; brick frieze with rectangular spare fields and four-sided spire with slate and weathervane.
INTERIOR
Covering with pointed-arch-shaped wooden beam construction; sloping floor level, original seating plan and pulpit. Organ and organ case are not of value from the perspective of monument care.
Valuation
Church of cultural and architectural-historical importance because of the building style related to the Nieuwe Haagse School and typical of the nineteen-thirties and the reasonable degree of integrity of exterior and interior. In relation to the surrounding linear development of urban-planning importance because of its character-defining role in the streetscape.
