HOOFDINRIJHEK, MUREN EN HEKKEN. Vooruitspringend dubbel siersmeedijzeren toegangshek met vleugelmuren en hekken, dat het eindpunt van de oprijlaan en de entree-zijde van het voorplein markeert. Het toegangshek is gevat in twee samengestelde deels geblokte zandstenen pijlers, die van kroonlijsten met gestileerde acanthusbladeren en geprofileerde afdekplaten zijn voorzien. De pijlers worden bekroond door stenen siervazen met de initialen en kwartierwapens van de toenmalige eigenaar Unico Ripperda en zijn echtgenote M.E. Ripperda tot Wytwerd, en met het jaartal 1695. De pijlers worden aan weerszijden geflankeerd door een smeedijzeren hek op bakstenen met zandstenen platen afgedekte muur in twee delen, die door een smalle bakstenen door een kroonlijst afgesloten muur met centraal gelegen zandstenen vak en zandstenen rechthoekige lijsten als quasi-pijlers aan de zijden wordt geleed en wordt beëindigd. Boven het tweede gedeelte van deze muur zet de kroonlijst zich voort als geprofileerde afdekplaat om aan het eindpunt haaks in noordelijke richting om te buigen als kroonlijst van hetzelfde type bakstenen muur met zandstenen quasi-pijlers, met het verschil, dat deze muur geheel met zandstenen platen is bekleed. Description
MAIN ENTRANCE GATE, WALLS AND GATES. A projecting double ornamental wrought-iron entrance gate with wing walls and gates, marking the endpoint of the drive and the entrance side of the forecourt. The entrance gate is set in two composite partly blocked sandstone piers, which are provided with cornices bearing stylised acanthus leaves and profiled coping plates. The piers are crowned by stone ornamental vases with the initials and quartered coats of arms of the then owner Unico Ripperda and his wife M.E. Ripperda tot Wytwerd, and with the date 1695. The piers are flanked on both sides by a wrought-iron gate on a brick wall with sandstone plate coping in two sections, which is articulated and terminated by a narrow brick wall finished off by a cornice with a centrally located sandstone section and sandstone rectangular mouldings as quasi-piers at the sides. Above the second section of this wall the cornice continues as a profiled coping plate, bending at right angles at the endpoint in a northerly direction as a cornice of the same type brick wall with sandstone quasi-piers, with the difference that this wall is entirely faced with sandstone plates. The latter wall flanks, with a matching counterpart, a double wrought-iron gate. The gates provide access to the inner courtyards located on both sides of the drive. Adjacent to these gate sections, which recede in relation to the projecting part, is a brick wall finished off by profiled sandstone coping, which is in line with the south walls of the outbuildings and which has been set cold against them.
