Inleiding
Blok van drie WONINGEN gebouwd rond 1910 in opdracht van het Ministerie van Justitie; ontwerp, woningtype II, van W.C. Metzelaar. De letters V en X staan in de beide topgevels. De aanduiding W kon niet worden aangebracht bij ontbreken van de topgevel.
De aanbouwen aan de achterzijde zijn voor de bescherming van ondergeschikt belang.
Omschrijving
Evenwijdig aan de weg gelegen een bouwlaag tellend woningblok op rechthoekige plattegrond met platte aanbouw aan achterzijde. Het geheel is uit baksteen opgetrokken in een sobere en functionele stijl en wordt gedekt door een met pannen belegd zadeldak; windveren, goot op klossen, houten dakkapellen, schoorstenen in nok en voorste dakschild, staafankers. De voorgevels symmetrisch ingedeeld met 6-ruits schuiframen met luiken, opgeklampte deur met 2-ruits bovenlicht, alle getoogd. Zijgevels blind respectievelijk voorzien van een openslaand 6-ruits raam met vast kalf. Nummer 21 heeft een zijgevel met bepleistering met schijnvoegen.

The front facades symmetrically divided with 6-pane sash windows with shutters, set-in door with 2-pane fanlight, all arched. Side facades blind respectively furnished with an opening 6-pane window with fixed calf. Number 21 has a side facade with plaster rendering with false joints.
