Inleiding
WONING van het type II, gebouwd in 1910 in opdracht van het Ministerie van Justitie. Ontwerp van W.C. Metzelaar. Het cijfer '3' staat in de zuidelijke topgevel. Aanbouw aan achterzijde en bijgebouwen zijn voor de bescherming van ondergeschikt belang.
Omschrijving
Evenwijdig aan de weg gelegen eenvoudig, een bouwlaag tellend woonhuis op rechthoekige plattegrond. Het geheel is uit baksteen opgetrokken in sobere en functionele stijl en wordt gedekt door een zadeldak met pannen; windveren; schoorstenen in de nok; eenvoudige goot op klossen. Symmetrisch ingedeelde voorgevel met in het midden een deur en aan weerszijden licht getoogde 6-ruits schuiframen met luiken. De zuidelijke gevel met blokbepleistering is voorzien van een openslaand 6-ruitsraam met vast kalf.
Waardering
Essentieel onderdeel van het uitzonderlijk waardevolle complex Veenhuizen en van architectonisch, typologisch en stedebouwkundig belang. Gaaf.

Description
Simple single-storey residential building situated parallel to the road on a rectangular floor plan. The whole is constructed of brick in a sober and functional style and is covered by a gabled roof with tiles; roof ridges; chimneys in the ridge; simple gutter on corbels. Symmetrically arranged front facade with a door in the centre and on either side slightly arched 6-paned sash windows with shutters. The southern facade with rendered blockwork is provided with an opening 6-paned window with fixed frame.
