Inleiding
In traditioneel ambachtelijke stijl gebouwde BOERDERIJ uit circa 1865 en naar alle waarschijnlijkheid bestemd voor de arbeiders van de nabij gelegen (niet van rijkswege beschermde) grotere boerderij Burgemeester de Cockstraat 49. De boerderij behoort tot de hallehuisgroep met dwarsdeel maar heeft als bijzonderheid een doorgetrokken hoge zijgevel. De oostelijke gevel is deels vernieuwd.
Omschrijving
Op rechthoekige grondslag gebaseerd en in baksteen opgetrokken boerderij met een constructie van ankerbalkgebinten en gedekt door een afgewolfd rietdak met steil voor- en achterschild; schoorsteen. Gevelopbouw met gemetselde plint; staaf ankers. Baander met loopdeur; links daarvan een getoogd 4-ruits stalvenster en een mestdeur. De noordelijke zijgevel heeft onder meer een staldeur, een halfrond en 6-ruits (toegevoegd) gietijzeren stalraam. Het woonhuis, dat aan de straatzijde in het gevelveld van de baander doorloopt, heeft licht getoogde 6-ruits schuiframen met strekken.

Boerderij van cultuurhistorisch belang vanwege de sociaal-economische ontwikkeling (het verzelfstandigen van de landarbeiders); van architectuurhistorisch belang vanwege de vormgeving, het zeldzame type en de herkenbaarheid binnen de structurele gaafheid van de omgeving en als zodanig ook van stedebouwkundig belang.

FARMHOUSE built in traditional artisanal style from circa 1865 and presumably intended for the workers of the nearby (not nationally protected) larger farmhouse Burgemeester de Cockstraat 49. The farmhouse belongs to the hall-house group with transverse section but has as a special feature an extended high side gable. The eastern gable is partly renewed.
Description
Based on a rectangular ground plan and built in brick farmhouse with anchor-beam construction and covered by a barrel thatch roof with steep front and rear slopes; chimney. Facade construction with masonry plinth; staple anchors. Baander with walk door; to the left thereof a barrel-vaulted 4-pane stable window and a manure door. The northern side gable has among other things a stable door, a semi-circular and 6-pane (added) cast-iron stable window. The dwelling house, which on the street side continues in the facade plane of the baander, has lightly barrel-vaulted 6-pane sash windows with stone plinths.
Valuation
Farmhouse of cultural-historical significance because of the socio-economic development (the independence of the farm labourers); of architectural-historical significance because of the design, the rare type and the recognisability within the structural intactness of the surroundings and as such also of urban-planning significance.
