Inleiding
Villa, die het linkerdeel uitmaakt van het vrijstaande bouwblok Meer en Boslaan 108, Meer en Boslaan 110 en Scheveningselaan 150. De villa's werden in 1920-1923 gebouwd in opdracht van het Bouwbureau Joh.D. v.d. Houwen naar ontwerp van de architecten J. Duiker en B. Bijvoet in een door de Amerikaanse architect Frank Lloyd Wright beinvloede stijl en behoren tot het villapark Meer en Bosch. Een latere wijziging vormt de vergroting van de villa in een aangepaste vorm.
NB. De moderne ondergrondse garage is van bescherming uitgezonderd.
Omschrijving
Villa op onregelmatige plattegrond, bestaande uit een bouwlaag onder met leipannen gedekte schilddaken. De flauw hellende daken bezitten een fors overstek die kenmerkend is voor de architectuur van Frank Lloyd Wright, en gemetselde schoorstenen. Eveneens kenmerkend voor deze architectuur is de harmonische overgang van het besloten huis naar de open natuur door middel van een overdekt terras (hier later dichtgezet) en plaatsjes met lage scheidingsmuren. De villa is opgebouwd uit verschillende ten opzichte van elkaar verspringende bouwvolumes. De muren zijn van baksteen en in een later stadium witgeschilderd. De beide ingangen (aan de Scheveningselaan en aan de achterzijde) zijn vernieuwd.
De villa behorend tot het op de architectuur van Frank Lloyd Wright geinspireerde landhuis maakt deel uit van het door J. Duiker en B. Bijvoet ontworpen villapark "Meer en Bosch". Naast dit type komt hier ook het type landhuis geinspireerd op de Engelse cottagestijl voor. Het plan voor het villa-park is een goed voorbeeld van de toenmalige nieuwe filosofie over het gezond buiten wonen in de nabijheid van de stad.

Villa, which forms the left part of the detached building block Meer en Boslaan 108, Meer en Boslaan 110 and Scheveningselaan 150. The villas were built in 1920-1923 on behalf of the Bouwbureau Joh.D. v.d. Houwen to designs by architects J. Duiker and B. Description
Villa on an irregular floor plan, consisting of one storey under hipped roofs covered with slate tiles. The gently sloping roofs possess a substantial overhang which is characteristic of Frank Lloyd Wright's architecture, and have brick chimneys. Equally characteristic of this architecture is the harmonious transition from the enclosed house to the open nature by means of a covered terrace (here later closed) and small courtyards with low dividing walls. The villa is built from various building volumes offset in relation to each other. The walls are of brick and painted white at a later stage. Both entrances (at the Scheveningselaan and at the rear) have been renewed.
The villa belonging to the country house inspired by Frank Lloyd Wright's architecture forms part of the villa park "Meer en Bosch" designed by J. Duiker and B. Bijvoet.
