Naast de uit 1654 daterende molen van de Kaagpolder, in 1879 gebouwd HULP-STOOMGEMAAL met centrifugaalpomp, waarvan de 16 PK stoommachine in 1958 werd vervangen door een dieselmotor.
Het gemaal bestaat uit - aaneengebouwd - een in schoon metselwerk opgetrokken machinegebouwtje zonder verdieping onder met blauwe Hollandse pannen gedekt zadeldak en getoogde vensters met 16-ruits ramen, een evenzo uitgevoerd ketelhuis met iets lager dak en 12-ruits ramen, en een kleine gemetselde schoorsteen, en los hiervan een lattenloods, de voormalige kolenberging, onder met blauwe Hollandse pannen gedekt zadeldak.
Door de (eenvoudige) vormgeving, het nog aanwezig zijn van de schoorsteen en de voormalige kolenberging, en de situering nabij de molen een representatief, bijzonder gaaf en zeldzaam geworden voorbeeld van een (voormalig) hulp-stoomgemaal en als zodanig van algemeen belang uit een oogpunt van de architectuurhistorie en de geschiedenis der waterhuishoudkunde.

Description
Beside the mill of the Kaagpolder dating from 1654, built in 1879 AUXILIARY STEAM PUMPING STATION with centrifugal pump, of which the 16 HP steam engine was replaced in 1958 by a diesel motor.
The pumping station consists of - joined together - a machine building erected in fair brickwork without storey under gabled roof covered with blue Dutch tiles and arched windows with 16-pane frames, a likewise executed boiler house with somewhat lower roof and 12-pane windows, and a small brick chimney, and separately from this a lath shed, the former coal store, under gabled roof covered with blue Dutch tiles.
Through the (simple) design, the still present chimney and the former coal store, and the location near the mill a representative, particularly intact and increasingly rare example of a (former) auxiliary steam pumping station and as such of general importance from the point of view of architectural history and the history of water management.
