Inleiding
Vrijstaand WOONHUIS, ontworpen in 1936 door J. Krook uit Dalen voor burgemeester J. Tonckens. Bij het huis, dat een goed voorbeeld is van Interbellum-architectuur behoort een eenvoudige maar evenwichtige tuinaanleg met contemporain hekwerk en oprijlaan. Als bijzonderheid kan worden vermeld dat het pand tijdens de Tweede Wereldoorlog door de Duitse bezetter is gebruikt als commandopost.
Omschrijving
Deels onderkelderd woonhuis, opgetrokken uit baksteen en gedekt door een samengesteld schilddak met ruim overstek; zinken goot; schoorsteen. Ramen met stalen kozijnen; aan de oostkant een halfronde erker waarboven het plat, bestaande uit een gewapend betonnen plat met eenvoudige ijzeren borstwering. Boogvormige plaatijzeren tweeledige inrijdeur met geheng. Langs de openbare weg een in dezelfde trant uitgevoerd hekwerk.

Detached RESIDENCE, designed in 1936 by J. Krook from Dalen for mayor J. Tonckens. Partially cellaried residence, built of brick and covered by a composite hipped roof with generous overhang; zinc gutter; chimney. Windows with steel frames; on the east side a semi-circular bay window above which is the flat roof, consisting of a reinforced concrete slab with simple iron balustrade. Arch-shaped sheet-iron two-part entrance door with hinge. Along the public road fencing executed in the same manner.
