Volgens de principes van het Nieuwe Bouwen in 1932 door B. Merkelbach in opdracht van de familie Dijkstra ontworpen en in 1933 gebouwd geheel vrijstaand vacantiehuis, samengesteld uit een twee bouwlagen tellend woonblok - afgedekt door een plat dak met groot overstek en geprofileerde daklijst - en een lage op het N.W. georienteerde zijvleugel onder bolrond golfplaatdak, bevattende een garage en bijkeuken; het geheel is opgetrokken in baksteen, met witgeverfde buitenmuren, doorbroken door in smalle stalen kozijnen gevatte vensters waarvan de grootte op een vaste maatverhouding is gebaseerd, en met een terras op de Z.hoek dat toegankelijk is via de schuifdeuren oostelijk en westelijk van de Z.pijler en dat wordt beschut door twee windschermen op bakstenen voet haaks op de Z.O.- en Z.W.-gevels, en met een op de N.hoek uitgebouwde schoorsteen.
De ingang bevindt zich rechts in de N.O.gevel, gemarkeerd door een schuin oplopende luifel en de lange vensters op de verdieping, terwijl in het midden het langgerekte trappenhuisvenster is aangebracht met kleine, vierstrooks brede roedenverdeling en links alleen op de verdieping een venster is voorzien.
De Z.O. gevel bevat op de verdieping over de volle breedte een balcon met stalen buisleuning.

Description
According to the principles of the Nieuwe Bouwen designed in 1932 by B. Merkelbach on commission of the Dijkstra family and built in 1933, a completely detached holiday house, composed of a residential block comprising two storeys - covered by a flat roof with large overhang and profiled cornice - and a low side wing oriented to the N.W. under a bolrond corrugated metal roof, containing a garage and scullery; the whole is constructed in brick, with whitewashed exterior walls, pierced by windows set in narrow steel frames whose size is based on a fixed proportional standard, and with a terrace on the S. corner that is accessible via sliding doors to the east and west of the S. pier and that is sheltered by two windscreens on brick bases at right angles to the S.E. and S.W. facades, and with a chimney built out on the N. corner.
The entrance is situated on the right in the N.E. facade, marked by an inclined canopy and the long windows on the upper storey, while in the centre the elongated staircase window is placed with small, four-pane-wide glazing bars and on the left only on the upper storey a window is provided.
The S.E. facade contains on the upper storey across the full width a balcony with steel tube railing.
Holiday house by virtue of the overall architectural and technical design (in both exterior and interior) and situation is of general importance as an intact and representative example of the Dutch contribution to the Nieuwe Bouwen from the period 1920-40, of general importance for its significance for the development of modern architecture.
