Inleiding
Huis Vosbergen. Vrijstaande, tot LANDHUIS uitgegroeide boerenbehuizing. De oorspronkelijke boerderij is waarschijnlijk rond 1815 gebouwd door Herman Christiaan Reinders. Nadat de boerderij verschillende malen van eigenaar was gewisseld, kwam het in 1893 in bezit van Mej. Berendina Wilhelmina Groeneveld uit Groningen. Door haar werd het oorspronkelijke voorhuis in 1893 verbouwd tot zomerhuis en werd de schuur in oostelijke richting verlengd. In 1917 werd het huis, met het doel het permanent te bewonen, opnieuw verbouwd en in zijn geheel tot woonhuis ingericht. De laatste verbouwing vond plaats in 1925; de gevelsteen met opschrift J.S.K./W.B.K.C. 1925 is daarvan het bewijs. Een gevelsteen bij de entree maakt melding van een verbouwing uit 1950 in opdracht van het Harmanni Simon Kammingafonds.
Omschrijving
Samengesteld bouwvolume waarvan de hoofdvorm bestaat uit twee bouwlagen; afgeknot schilddak belegd met muldenpan. Het deels onderkelderde woonhuis rust op een grijze plint waarin kelderramen met diefijzers en heeft gedeeltelijk een rusticabasement; voorts gepleisterde gevels, vensters van diverse afmetingen (deels getoogde ramen met wenkbrauwen), fries en geprofileerde daklijst of goot op klossen, schoorstenen. Westgevel met boven elkaar geplaatste blindnissen. Onderkelderde serre; de later toegevoegde platte aanbouwen zijn voor de bescherming van ondergeschikt belang. De uitbreiding van 1925 is uitgevoerd met een royaal zadeldak en heeft deels glas-in-rood ramen in de topgevels.

Huis Vosbergen is van cultuurhistorisch, architectuurhistorisch en stedebouwkundig belang vanwege de ligging in het te beschermen gezicht 'Landgoederengordel Eelde-Paterswolde'.

Introduction
Vosbergen House. Detached farmhouse developed into a COUNTRY HOUSE. The original farmhouse was probably built around 1815 by Herman Christiaan Reinders. After the farmhouse changed hands several times, it came into the possession of Miss Berendina Wilhelmina Groeneveld from Groningen in 1893. By her the original front house was remodelled in 1893 into a summer house and the barn was extended in an easterly direction. In 1917 the house was remodelled again with the aim of permanently occupying it and was entirely converted into a dwelling. The last remodelling took place in 1925; the façade stone with inscription J.S.K./W.B.K.C. 1925 is evidence thereof. A façade stone at the entrance makes mention of an alteration from 1950 commissioned by the Harmanni Simon Kammingafonds.
Description
Composite built volume of which the main form consists of two storeys; truncated hipped roof tiled with Spanish tiles. The partly cellared dwelling rests on a grey plinth in which cellar windows with grilles and has partially a rusticated basement; furthermore rendered facades, windows of various sizes (partly arched windows with eyebrows), frieze and moulded roof line or gutter on corbels, chimneys. West facade with superposed blind niches. Cellared conservatory; the later added flat ancillary buildings are of subordinate significance for the protection. The extension of 1925 is executed with a spacious gabled roof and partly has stained-glass windows in red in the top gables.

Vosbergen House is of cultural-historical, architectural-historical and urban-planning significance owing to its location in the protected view 'Landgoederengordel Eelde-Paterswolde'.
