Description

Possibly originally 17th century in origin, but in terms of external appearance second half 19th century FARMSTEAD COMPLEX consisting of a farmhouse with a central longitudinal section, a boiler house, a stone ancillary barn, a four-rod cart shed and a partly clinker-paved yard. The main building constructed in brick on partial undercellaring and covered by a thatched half-hipped roof with a shutter in the front hipped roof; chimney with board at the division between residential and business sections; wind braces; wattle and daub on the front elevation; staple anchors. In the front elevation a clamped door with fanlight either side of which a 4-pane window with clamped shutters and a cellar window with shutter and two lightly arched 6-pane sash windows with 1.5-brick soldier courses and clamped shutters and a window with grilles and clamped shutter. In the partly renewed rear and side elevations divided doors and stable doors and windows of various design; against the right side elevation wooden milk churn rack. The living room entirely tiled with 17th, 18th and 19th century purple, blue and white tiles mostly with figurative and floral motifs. On the partly clinker-paved yard:

- a second half 19th century brick boiler house under tile-covered gabled roof; wind braces; chimney; 6-pane sash window with 1.5-brick soldier courses and clamped shutters; door;

- a four-rod cart shed, originally possibly also second half 19th century, under a rectangular (now with corrugated iron cladding) gabled roof.
