Omschrijving
Uit 1843 daterend, in rode baksteen opgetrokken reduit, dat stond op het vooruitgeschoven lunet B, dat tesamen met het dito lunet A de stad Breda na de afscheiding van Belgie extra bescherming diende te geven aan de Antwerpse zijde en dat sedert 1878 dienst doet als opslagruimte. Het reduit bestaat uit twee, onder een hoek van 75 gr. op elkaar staande vleugels - een met drie mortierkazematten en een met twee kanonkazematten; met afgeschuinde punt. Het is, behoudens een gedeelte van de grachten, het laatste restant van de verdedigingswerken van de gedurende vele eeuwen zeer belangrijke vesting Breda en van een type (plattegrond, omvang en constructie), dat in Nederland nergens meer voorkomt.

Description
Dating from 1843, built in red brick redoubt, which stood on the advanced lunette B, which together with likewise lunette A served to provide the city of Breda extra protection after the separation from Belgium on the Antwerp side and which has served since 1878 as storage space. The redoubt consists of two wings standing at an angle of 75 degrees to each other - one with three mortar casemates and one with two gun casemates; with bevelled point. It is, save for a part of the moats, the last remnant of the defence works of the fortress Breda, which was very important for many centuries, and of a type (floor plan, size and construction) that no longer exists anywhere else in the Netherlands.
