Inleiding.
Winkel-woonhuis in neo-renaissance stijl uit 1898 gebouwd in opdracht van de horlogemaker en opticien L. Loos. Het pand, dat is opgenomen in de straatwand met aaneengesloten bebouwing, is ontworpen door de architect J.W. Bosboom. Voor het huis onder de straat bevindt zich een kelder uit 1658 met kruisgewelf, dat bij de voorganger van het huidige pand heeft behoord. Omschrijving.
Smal pand op rechthoekige plattegrond bestaande uit kelder, parterre en twee verdiepingen onder een kap, een vensteras breed. De signering van de architect bevindt zich op de winkelpui, linksonder naast de ingang. De voorgevel is in hoofdzaak opgebouwd uit hout en glas en vertoont een bijzonder karakteristieke stijl, die ook wel omschreven wordt met het begrip "meubelmakers neo-renaissance". De rijk gesneden houten winkelpui op hardstenen sokkel met kelderluiken heeft een versiering met balusterzuiltjes en consoles en in het bovenlicht glas-in-lood in Art Nouveau. Hierboven een hoofdgestel met kroonlijst op gebeeldhouwde consoles aan weerskanten. De verdiepingvensters hebben driedelige kozijnen, in de eerste verdieping met balusterzuiltjes. Boven de door consoles gedragen kroonlijst een chaletvormige dakkapel waarvan het overstekende dak gedragen wordt door balusterzuiltjes. Het houtwerk is in de oorspronkelijke rode kleur geschilderd.
