Inleiding
Aan de noordelijke dorpsrand, nabij de kruising van de provinciale weg en de weg naar kasteel Beverweerd gesitueerde romp van de in 1882-84 in opdracht van G.A. de Bouter gebouwde Werkhovense KORENMOLEN, bedoeld ter vervanging van een oudere voorganger op een andere plaats, dichter bij kasteel Beverweerd. De molen kreeg in 1921 een electromotor (waarvan de aangebouwde machinekamer recentelijk weer is afgebroken), werd in 1933 ontmanteld en afgedekt door een plat houten dak.
Omschrijving
De romp van de Werkhovense molen is opgetrokken in baksteen op een cirkelvormige plattegrond, zich naar boven verjongend. De van getoogde dubbele inrijdeuren, met mansdeurtje, en molenvensters, met onderverdelingen in hout en ijzer, voorziene molenromp is gedeeltelijk gepleisterd, met recentelijk (1991) herbouwde stelling en telde in oorsprong zes bouwlagen (thans vijf).
Waardering
Karakteristieke, doch incomplete 19e-eeuwse korenmolen van belang wegens cultuurhistorische waarde en de met de oorspronkelijke functie verbonden situering aan de dorpsrand, vrij in het open Krommerijnlandschap en als zodanig ook van landschappelijke waarde.

Introduction
At the northern village edge, near the intersection of the provincial road and the road to Beverweerd castle situated shell of the CORN MILL of Werkhoven built in 1882-84 on the commission of G.A. de Bouter, intended to replace an older predecessor at another location, closer to Beverweerd castle. The mill received an electric motor in 1921 (of which the attached machine room was recently demolished again), was dismantled in 1933 and covered with a flat wooden roof.
Description
The shell of the Werkhoven mill is constructed in brick on a circular ground plan, tapering upwards. The mill shell provided with arched double loading doors, with small door, and mill windows, with subdivisions in wood and iron, is partly rendered, with recently (1991) rebuilt scaffolding and originally counted six storeys (now five).
Evaluation
Characteristic, though incomplete 19th-century corn mill of significance by virtue of cultural-historical value and the siting associated with the original function at the village edge, free in the open Krommerijn landscape and as such also of landscape value.
