Omschrijving
Verdedigingswerk, onderdeel van de vesting Muiden, deel uitmakend van de Nieuwe Hollandse Waterlinie. Het werk (bekend als de Westbatterij) omvat een aanleg van aardwerken met gracht en bijbehorende bebouwing zoals hierna genoemd.
De aanleg bestaat uit een restant van de aarden omwalling, de natte gracht rond het torenfort en de militaire landsgrond. De aarden omwalling is haar oorspronkelijke profilering verloren en opgenomen in de dijk langs de Vecht en het IJmeer.
Binnen de aanleg bevindt zich een bomvrije toren met ophaalbrug.

Description
Defensive work, part of Muiden fortress, part of the Nieuwe Hollandse Waterlinie. The work (known as the Westbatterij) comprises an arrangement of earthworks with moat and associated structures as named below.
The arrangement consists of a remnant of the earthen rampart, the wet moat around the tower fort and the military state lands. The earthen rampart has lost its original profiling and is incorporated into the dyke along the Vecht and the IJmeer.
Within the arrangement there is a bombproof tower with drawbridge.
