Omschrijving
KASTEELPOORT. Rode bakstenen kasteelpoort, ook wel Hoenderpoort genaamd, die in de 18e eeuw aan de NO-zijde van het omgrachte terrein ter vervanging van een oudere hier gelegen poort werd geplaatst. De poort bestaat uit twee rode bakstenen door een geprofileerde natuurstenen plaat afgedekte blokpijlers op geprofileerd hardstenen voetstuk. De pijlers worden door een ijzeren lantaarn bekroond.
Aan weerszijden van de pijlers twee zich voluutvormig verjongende vleugelmuren. De linker muur gaat haaks om in een rode bakstenen door een ezelsrug bekroonde muur, die na ca. 25 meter via een flauwe hoek naar links verloopt en die onderbroken wordt door een aan weerszijden door blokpijlers geflankeerde houten poort van recente datum. Aan de linkerzijde van deze poort strekt de muur zich uit tot de schuur van het perceel Langs de Wal nr. 10. De rechter vleugelmuur gaat in een flauwe hoek om in een door een ezelsrug bekroonde muur uit ca. 1900, die tot het perceel Langs de Wal nr. 4 reikt. Ter hoogte van de Driesprong Langs de Wal - Mazijk is een gedeelte van deze muur onlangs vernieuwd.

Description
CASTLE GATE. Red brick castle gate, also called the Chicken Gate, which was placed on the NE side of the moated terrain in the 18th century to replace an older gate located here. The gate consists of two red brick block piers covered by a profiled natural stone slab on a profiled sandstone plinth. The piers are crowned by an iron lantern.
On either side of the piers two wing walls tapering in a volute form. The left wall turns at right angles into a red brick wall crowned by a saddle back, which after approximately 25 metres turns to the left in a shallow angle and which is interrupted by a wooden gate of recent date flanked on either side by block piers. On the left side of this gate the wall extends to the barn of the property Langs de Wal no. 10. The right wing wall turns in a shallow angle into a wall crowned by a saddle back dating from approximately 1900, which extends to the property Langs de Wal no. 4. At the level of the Driesprong Langs de Wal - Mazijk a section of this wall was recently renewed.
