Inleiding.
Vrij gesitueerd pension uit circa 1885 op rechthoekige plattegrond, gebouwd in neorenaissance met kenmerken van de chaletstijl. Aan de straatzijde begrenst een moderne bakstenen tuinmuur het perceel.
Omschrijving.
Het acht traveeën brede pension telt twee bouwlagen en heeft een zolderverdieping in een met shingles gedekt afgeknot schilddak. In de kap zijn drie dakkapellen met frontonbekroningen. De gevels zijn in schoon metselwerk opgetrokken met gepleisterde sierbanden en worden afgesloten door een geprofileerde gecorniste houten kroonlijst. Aan de voorzijde is het linker deel driezijdig naar voren uitgebouwd. Over de volle breedte van de voorgevel is op de parterre en de eerste verdieping een open houten veranda in de trant van de chaletstijl. De dragers van de veranda's zijn houten pijlertjes. De lijsten van beide veranda's zijn versierd met rijk gesneden ornamenten. De borstwering van de veranda op de eerste verdieping is van hout en opengewerkt.
Waardering.
Pand van cultuurhistorische en typologische waarde als gaaf en zeldzaam voorbeeld van een op een duin gesitueerd pension van rond de eeuwwisseling in de badplaats Scheveningen. Tevens van architectuurhistorisch belang als goed voorbeeld van neorenaissance architectuur met kenmerken uit de chaletstijl.

Freely situated pension from circa 1885 on a rectangular plan, built in neo-renaissance with characteristics of the chalet style. On the street side a modern brick garden wall bounds the plot.
Description.
The pension, eight bays wide, has two storeys and a loft storey in a shingled clipped hipped roof. In the roof are three roof dormers with pediment cresting. The facades are built in fair-faced brickwork with plastered decorative bands and are finished with a moulded timber cornice. On the front, the left section is built out three-sided to the fore. Across the full width of the front facade on the ground floor and first storey is an open timber veranda in the manner of the chalet style. The supports of the verandas are timber pillars. The cornices of both verandas are decorated with richly carved ornaments. The balustrade of the veranda on the first storey is of timber and open-worked.
Valuation.
Property of cultural-historical and typological value as an intact and rare example of a pension situated on a dune from around the turn of the century in the seaside resort Scheveningen. Also of architectural-historical importance as a good example of neo-renaissance architecture with characteristics from the chalet style.
