Van oorsprong 17e-eeuws vier traveeën breed huis met (tegenwoordig) plat dak.
Voor de entree ligt een natuurstenen stoeptrap met balusters.
Het vier traveeen brede huis staat als een in z'n omgeving opvallend grootschalig element temidden van de in het algemeen bescheidener bebouwing langs de Springweg. Ook het grote bijbehorende perceel, dat achter de percelen aan de Mariaplaats doorliep tot aan de Eloyensteeg, wijst op een oude uitzonderingspositie. Hoewel het huis aan duidelijkheid heeft ingeboet door een verbouwing rond 1930, waarbij de kappen werden vervangen door een extra verdieping met een plat dak, is het overigens nog vrij compleet bewaard.
Voordien was duidelijker zichtbaar dat het pand feitelijk uit twee delen bestond. Een fors middeleeuws voorhuis van twee lagen op een ruim boven het maaiveld uitstekende kelder, met een kap evenwijdig aan de straat gevat tussen twee (grotendeels nog bestaande) trapgevels; en een eveneens royale achterbouw, mogelijk van 17e-eeuwse oorsprong, met een groot tentdak en een momenteel niet toegankelijke kelder.
Bij een midden 18e-eeuwse verbouwing kreeg het huis vermoedelijk pas zijn entreepartij en de tot achter doorlopende gang, alsmede rococo stucwerk in de gang en de grote kamers op de begane grond.
Het pand is bouwhistorisch van belang en vanwege zijn bijzondere ligging als grootschalige bebouwing in een overwegend kleinschaliger omgeving.

Originally 17th-century four-bay wide house with (now) flat roof.
In front of the entrance is a natural stone stoep with balusters.
The four-bay wide house stands as a strikingly large-scale element in its surroundings among generally modest buildings along the Springweg. The large associated plot, which ran behind the plots at the Mariaplaats to the Eloyensteeg, also points to an old exceptional position. Although the house has lost clarity through an alteration around 1930, in which the roofs were replaced by an additional storey with a flat roof, it is otherwise fairly completely preserved.
Previously it was clearer that the building actually consisted of two parts. A substantial medieval front building of two storeys on a basement standing well above ground level, with a roof parallel to the street fitted between two (largely still existing) stepped gables; and an equally spacious rear building, possibly of 17th-century origin, with a large tent roof and a currently inaccessible cellar.
During a mid-18th-century alteration the house presumably received for the first time its entrance arrangement and the corridor running to the rear, as well as rococo stucco work in the corridor and the large rooms on the ground floor.
The building is of building-historical importance and because of its special location as large-scale construction in a predominantly smaller-scale surroundings.
