Omschrijving
Een pand van twee bouwlagen met een zadeldak evenwijdig aan de rooilijn, uit het tweede kwart van de 17e eeuw. Het vormt tezamen met Nobeldwarsstraat 27 een vijfhoekig geheel. De voorgevel hiervan volgt de knik die de Nobeldwarsstraat hier maakt terwijl de achtergevel recht is.
Het pand heeft enkelvoudige balklagen loodrecht op de straat. De gevel is vrij gesloten en heeft per bouwlaag twee vensters. De achtergevel heeft op de beganegrond een klein venster (blijkens bogen in het metselwerk zijn er meer vensters, geweest) en op de verdieping slechts een originele oculus, die tussen twee balken uitkomt. Het pand heeft links in de voorgevel een poortje met natuurstenen boogblokken, eertijds toegang gevend tot een doorgang naar het achterterrein, nu tot de woning.
Aan beide zijden van dit dubbelpand is een oudere trapgevel te zien, behorend bij een eenlaagse bebouwing. Niet duidelijk is of dit buurpanden betreft danwel oudere bebouwing op de plaats van dit 17e eeuwse dubbelpand.
De situering van het gaaf bewaarde pand is interessant. De 'stadssteeg', die overal achter de stadswal liep, boog uit het zuiden komend bij dit pand stadswaards af, met als gevolg dat aan de overzijde van de straat huizen tot tegen de stadswal gebouwd konden worden op een steeds breder wordende strook grond. Pas vlak voor het Lucasbolwerk is weer een restant van de 'stadssteeg' te vinden. Het is juist in Nobeldwarsstraat 27/29 dat deze merkwaardige situatie beeldend tot uiting komt.
Het pand is van architectonische waarde en van historisch belang.

Description
A building of two storeys with a gabled roof parallel to the building line, from the second quarter of the 17th century. Together with Nobeldwarsstraat 27 it forms a pentagonal whole. Its front facade follows the bend which Nobeldwarsstraat makes here while the rear facade is straight.
The building has simple joist layers perpendicular to the street. The facade is fairly closed and has per storey two windows. The rear facade has on the ground floor a small window (judging by arches in the masonry there have been more windows) and on the upper storey only an original oculus, which emerges between two beams. The building has on the left in the front facade a small gate with natural stone arch stones, once providing access to a passage to the rear grounds, now to the dwelling.
On both sides of this double house an older stepped gable is visible, belonging to one-storey building. It is not clear whether these are neighbouring buildings or else older building on the site of this 17th century double house.
The situation of the fairly well preserved building is interesting. The 'city lane', which ran everywhere behind the city wall, came from the south and curved inland to the city at this building, with the result that on the opposite side of the street houses could be built right up to the city wall on an increasingly widening strip of ground. Only just before the Lucasbolwerk is another remnant of the 'city lane' to be found. It is precisely in Nobeldwarsstraat 27/29 that this remarkable situation is strikingly expressed.
The building is of architectural value and of historical importance.
